A few days ago, in this topic, I said that I wanted draw Daniel and Abel starring as, accordingly, Jotaro Kujo and Dio Brando from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. And now I finally managed to draw that! However, I am but a learner, and my art was known to cause some of my friends severe eye damage, so wear some protective goggles before watching... I don't want to hurt someone's eyes with my fanart...  :paranoid

So, I proudly present you this drawings that I have made!
First, there is Abel Brando! I think he turned out pretty well, even though he looks somewhat more like Brando than Abel...

Second, there is a coloured version of Abel Brando! Over nine thousand hours in MS Paint, but I think it was worth the efforts...

And, finally, Daniel Joestar! I don't like how he came out, so, hopefully, I'll make a new version of this picture in the future. This guy looks neither like Daniel, nor like Jotaro, and even Jotaro's trademark pose ("Yare-yare, daze") is messed up.

Anyway, I'll draw some more stuff soon. It is going to be either a picture of SuperKria, or some of my original characters (probably, Ren Gaulen himself).

Fa'Lina as The World?.. This is madness!! And yet this is so awesome... And she might have some time control magic as well! As for Star Platinum, that would have to be Fi, as it was mentioned in the Meme topic. However, he was apparently renamed into Stellar Charcoal by Daniel, poor thing...

By the way, I also had an idea to "transform" Daniel into Kenshiro from Hokuto no Ken. I don't know where it came from, but I just could not help imagining him morphing his wing tentacles into two additional pairs of fists and then going all "Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken" on his opponent.  :U I need to lay off of manga and anime, I know... I doubt that I will be able to draw it anytime soon, either...  :<

Thank you. In fact, most of my friends simply don't like "furry" art. A lot.
And Abel Brando still looks more like Dio from my point of view! Then again, that is not a bad thing. Well, unless you happen to be Daniel Joestar...  >:3  Then it would be a pretty bad thing (for you)! Janus would agree with me on that!

schizo

Saying these are not good is like saying water is not wet.
Your friends must not be very artistic.
The colored one of abel looks very nice, even more impressive is the fact you colored in paint.

Ren Gaulen

Rejoice!! I have drawn some more pictures. This time I'm posting pictures of one of my original characters. This time it will be Ren Gaulen. He originates from the "Shades of Grey", a sci-fi universe that I made up. Ren was born on the low-tech planet of Kirindor that was situated right outside the borders of the mighty United Terran Star Federation. Due to some certain circumstances (which almost caused the apocalypse on his homeworld) he was plunged into the unknown and unforgiving world that was beyond his own planet. Ren possesses some unusual powers, which soon drew the attention of the Asheronian Holy Order to him. After that, this young knight errant became an official Daemonslayer, traveling from planet to planet, sending nether beasts back to Hell and slaying the altlings that dared to follow the dark path. His trusty sword Ithorin and his squire Jayce (whom I'll draw later  :3) help him with this difficult mission.

Here is a black and white picture of Ren.

And here is a coloured version.

By the way, altling means basically the same thing as Creature in DMFA. Only in the "Shades of Grey" they are often the hunted, not the hunters.

WhiteFox

Awesome as always.

Have you tried shading much? there are places where you have lines that would look better with shadows instead, especially the muscle definition.
This is my pencil. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My pencil is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life...

Very nice.  I can see I'll have to pay more attention to your artwork than I have been up to now.

My one criticism is the armour design.  In practical terms it leaves a lot to be desired, e.g. the arms are completely unprotected.  As a fashion accessory it has a lot going for it, though :3

Ren wears an armored suit made of "active fiber". It is normally supposed to have sleeves, but Ren had them removed. This "active fiber" is great at stopping bullets, instantly getting thicker and harder at the point of impact, it can protect against simple melee weapons (but vibro-blades and phase-blades still easily cut through it) and can quickly redistribute the energy, thus giving some protection against lasers, ion weapons and such stuff. However, Ren wears this armour mostly because it won't be damaged (or, rather, torn apart) when he goes "full power". And it also looks cool on him.
As for the "full power Ren", I've just finished another picture of him.

Ren in his Awakened form. Fear him as he goes slightly mad with Power.

A few words about his wings. Their feathers are composed of Nether matter and look as if they are made of light. Some of the feathers are not even attached to the wings, but rather hover in the air somewhere around. Normally the wings are soft and fluffy, aside from the primary feathers, which are completely immaterial most of the time (they are visible, but they pass right through most objects). Therefore, while the wings look huge, they are very light and don't get in the way. Ren materializes them completely only when they are needed. And he uses the wings for combat, not for flight (he can simply levitate). By the way, those rings around his body are projecting a forcefield around Ren. They are not some decorative "halos". They are very useful halos!  :U

No kidding.  He looked kind of creepy in the last picture, with those eyes and the sour expression.  This is really 'Run away!' material though :3
The wings turned out nicely.  A bit ragged towards the bottom, but the 'elbow' at the top near his head works well.

Cogidubnus

You know, if you added a cigarette and a bandanna... ;)

This stuff actually looks pretty nice. You have an interesting style.

WhiteFox

Thats awesome. I like the halo.

The gun looks a bit slender. Fully automatic handguns tend to be a little beefier.

your drawings look actually good. But I think Ren armor's color scheme doesn't contrast well with his fur and so it looks like he's half-naked

Unlike usual. ;)

I agree that your Abel is better than Dan, but part of that may be just the colour, or lack thereof. Abel is a lot easier to identify due to the spots, and so looks more like himself.
/kicks the internet over

Alondro

Ren kinda looks like Dr. Ink when he's about to have an appointment with a patient...

... pity the patient, who shall never be seen again.   :<

Nicely evil-looking.  You should draw Charline sometime.   ;)
Three's a crowd:  One lordly leonine of the Leyjon, one cruel and cunning cubi goddess, and one utterly doomed human stuck between them.

http://www.furfire.org/art/yapcharli2.gif

Ren Gaulen

Ah, I have not posted anything here for a while... But now I have drawn something that I just have to post...
Abel, as seen by daydreaming Jyrras.
I want to quote Dr. Ink here: "Gay. Very gay. So very gay." Also, Daniel in this picture must be representing that part of me that is not gay for Abel. And Jyrras... well, he represents the rest of me. Stupid sexy Abel... Affecting me like that... Well, even a knight of the Holy Order can be gay for Abel! :3

Hopefully, this picture will put an end to the artist's block I've been suffering for the whole week. To tell the truth, it's the first time ever I've drawn something like that! :3

WhiteFox

That is hilarious. I guess Dan isn't at the Nothing-Phases-A-'Cubi stage yet. :3

As for being gay for abel... Well, I'm not. I mean, I'd love to go drinking with him, but I'm not gay for him. Those of us you who are,  there's always #960.

Obligatory constructive comment: There's a lot of white space here. I think you could have made the overall image a lot smaller with better compostion/layout/arrangement/whatever/etc. Maybe if Abel were lying sideways.
This is my pencil. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My pencil is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life...

Tapewolf

Oh, I'm torn.  The part of me that writes Daryil is going like Jyrras and the rest of me is going like Dan.

J.P. Morris, Chief Engineer DMFA Radio Project * IT-HE * D-T-E

Ren Gaulen

I have drawn a picture of Abel last time, so now it's Daniel's turn. However, when I was drawing Dan, I got a little carried away. Not that it was a bad thing...
Anyway, I proudly present Daniel Ti'Fiona as the Prince of Persia (as in "Prince of Persia - Warrior Within" >:3)! He seems to be affected by the "Shades of grey", too. Makes me wonder what would Dark Pegasus do if Daniel actually turned into the "Assassin Prince" (as I call that guy)... >:]
...
My shading does not look very good, but I hope my techniques will improve over time...

Tapewolf

I always thought Dan looks kind of cool when he's evil, but that is one person I would not want to meet alone at any time, let alone after dark.  Actually I'm not sure I'd want to meet him with someone else either.

I think that's one of the few times a picture has actually creeped me out....

J.P. Morris, Chief Engineer DMFA Radio Project * IT-HE * D-T-E

WhiteFox

Is that his clan mark on the medallion there? If so, nice touch. I love his facial expression, too.
The wing anatomy kinda throws me off.

As for shading, the only place it looks off to me is on the "Skirt". Everywhere else, especially on the neck and around the armpits, they add volume nicely. On the skirt, it looks like you just followed the lines you put down.

Very nice work overall. That's a great facial expression, and his pose comes across very strongly.
This is my pencil. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My pencil is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life...

Ren Gaulen

Some more original art from yours truly. This time it is characters from a story based in the world of DMFA that I am slowly writing, "A Wish and a Falling Star". The story seems to be to raw to be posted yet, though.
Anyway, the first character is Allen Farlight. He is an incubus who was brought up among Beings. His mother, who was a succubus herself, sent Allen to SAIA when he was seventeen, but he turned out to be very far from a good student. He was a dreamer, an adventureseeker who always had his head in the clouds. In some ways Allen is similar to Daniel, but he never really went adventuring. He likes to carry around a sword, but he is a lousy swordsman. However, Samantha taught him how to fight using only one's arms, legs and wing tendrils. Al is also quite good at controlling the Thunder element.
The second one is Samantha Dar'Imoen herself. She is a succubus, however she usually keeps both her back wings and her head wings hidden. Her family was slaughtered by Sebastian Cruz, her former lover, and Sam herself was killed by him but then brought back to life at the Academy. She is not undead, because when Sebastian killed her he somehow bound her soul to her dead body (so when her body was healed at the Academy, the soul was returned into it), but Seb literally left a hole in her soul, permanently severing Sam from her clan and making her unable to emanate any emotions (and even have any real emotions, with the exception of rage that sometimes overcame her during battles). When she healed, Sam started to train and create a combat technique that would allow her to beat Sebastian's powers. Actually, her technique is to wrap her morphed wings around her arms like some kind of organic armour with razor sharp claws for fingers and sword-like blades growing out of forearms. Sam is not talkative and she looks somewhat distracted or bored most of the time. She is very different from your regular cubi, and some people even mistake her for a Being or at least some other kind of Creature than cubi.
And finally - Sebastian Cruz. Beware - the picture contains implied violence! He was originally an angel Creature, but one day he encountered a Nether daemon, a Soul Devourer, to be precise, and it fused with Seb, slowly driving him completely insane over the next several months. The symbiont gave Seb some very unusual powers, including a fearsome Soulcleaver - an astral blade that cuts souls. Seb became some sort of a super-predator that was feeding on other predators. He hunted Creatures, killed them and devoured their souls. And his favourite prey were cubi. While Sebastian became insane, he retained all of his intelligence and cunning, which made him extremely dangerous. By the way, if you wonder what is Seb holding in his left hand - it is a head wing. And the spike things around his right arm represent a "blast" spell that Seb uses to destroy the bodies of his victims. If you ever watched "FullMetal Alchemist", think of Scar's technique.

Really like the sebastian one,he has the "you will will die slowly"look,as always they all look very nice,I would not mind seeing samantha's armor technique.

In some ways Allen is similar to Daniel, but he never really went adventuring. He likes to carry around a sword, but he is a lousy swordsman. However, Samantha taught him how to fight using only one's arms, legs and wing tendrils.
Yes, I see the similarity.  And it's an interesting picture because I think it's the first time I've seen you draw someone in a cheerful mood  :3

The others are good too, although I think you already know my feelings about soul-slaying  :rolleyes
As you said before, there is an interesting parallel between Cruz and Johan Cross, the difference being with Cruz that he actually did it, whereas Cross simply used his reputation to harvest all that tasty fear.

**EDIT**
Incidentally, what species are they?

Allen is some kind of a canine - it's hard to tell what he really is. He is closest to a German shepherd. Samantha is supposed to be a collie - but it is really hard to tell. :< And as for Sebastian - he is a wolf.

No, it is his "You're next" look. Seb is not a kind of a murderer who would play with his victims - he kills very fast and very messy.

And as for the bio-armor technique - here it is! Samantha makes her wing tendrils wrap around her arm and then fuses them with the arm, creating a thick but flexible shell on the outside and enhancing the muscle tissue so that she can tear apart steel armour with her claws. As for the blade, it is composed of very dense organic material vibrating at a very high frequency and additionally enveloped in an energy field which can negate the effects of Sebastian's psi-blade (which is basically a force field in shape of a blade that can cut almost anything) and even his Soulcleaver (which is usually generated inside a psi-blade).

I think I'll draw some more of the characters from "A Wish and a Falling Star" later.

Okay, then, critique time - the ears are wrong for the collie - in fact I can't really see them.
With your normal collie they come out the top and often flop over forwards, like this:
http://www.kennels.co.uk/Pastoral/RoughCollie.htm

With a Border they just stick up like a wolf:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Border_Collie_600.jpg
(The previous owners of my house had a Border - they must have left them alone or something because they ate bits of the kitchen unit.  I'll have to get the collie-flap in the backdoor removed too...)

With Allen, the muzzle is much too short for most kinds of dog and certainly for an Alsatian - they're long, like a wolf or the Border.  This design would work well on a feline, though.

Meh... Have not posted any pictures here for a month... I almost forgot that I had an art thread here. Hope it will be fine if I revive it by posting something new here.

...Like a picture of a pair of Terran Furies. Aren't they hot? Yes, they are! >:3

Don't be disturbed by the following text; Furies belong to the universe of the "Shades of Grey", which is somewhat inspired by "Warhammer 40K". The universe of the "SoG" belongs to me.
"Furies are the elite among the elite of Terran military. They are genetically engineered humans born and bred for a sole purpose - war. They are physically superior to any regular human; they are equipped with the best weapons and armour that the UTSF's armourers can offer. They know no fear, mercy or hesitation. They live to fight. They are instruments of war in form of beautiful women rather than human beings. They are always at the spearhead of any assault against the Enemies of Mankind, along with the mighty Wraths, fighting across the Galaxy against abominable mutants, treacherous aliens and innumerable horrors from Beyond. With the sword and the flame they will pave the way into the future for the Children of Terra..."
It is supposed to be written in the pamphlets handed to regular Terran grunts so that they would venerate the Furies and worship them like some goddesses of war, following them even to a certain death.
Furies are artificially created, grown in the laboratories at the Olympus Temple on Mars. They all are females in appearance, but they lack reproductive organs, so they can be considered sexless. There is more nanomachinery in their bodies than human flesh, as some say - and this statement is not so much of an exaggeration. Also, they have Zenfarus crystals implanted in their bodies, providing them with nearly limitless amount of energy, so that they can fight for a week without stopping (it is not an exaggeration at all, because Furies really had to fight for a whole week against the hordes of insectoid Kzel-Usul during one of the planetary battles of the Second Migration). The armour they wear can regenerate, just like their own bodies, and is powered by the same crystal. In fact, when Fury wears her armour, it pretty much becomes her second skin.
In this picture the Fury on the left is armed with a Grand cleaver - a sword forged from nearly indestructible Neo Damascus, that has a phase field generator inside the blade. The sword itself is almost completely dull, but when the phase field is turned on, it will cut most know materials like hot knife cuts butter. No normal human would be able to even lift this sword, but for a Fury it is not all that heavy. The Fury on the right is holding an "Atrocity" G17-W microwave cannon, also nicknamed "Bio-Blaster" in the military. It can fry most of the protein-based lifeforms in seconds, but can be used against machines as well.
While Furies are perfect warriors, they are not "mindless machines of destruction that cannot feel or think for themselves", as some people of the UTSF think. Furies can't function as a part of human society, but within the military they pretty much have a society of their own. They do have feelings, wishes and dreams, but due to their mental conditioning they always put their duty before anything else.
Furies even can be cute at times! The one on the right has "Goodbye Kitty" written on her gun, for example (it can be kind of hard to read those tiny letters), and a picture of said "Kitty", wielding a machete and an assault rifle... :sweatdrop Isn't that adorable? :animesweat

Fear the wall of text. It frightens even me, and I am the one who wrote it. I'll draw more of the Furies and their companions - Wraths - later. I will need to draw a Fury without her helmet to demonstrate that they are not effeminate androids...

Well, the armour design is good.  What does creep me out is the idea of purpose-bred humans, to say nothing of the fact that so much firepower is supposedly necessary.

**EDIT**
On reflection, I'm not convinced about the sword - unless it's made of carbon-fibre it's going to be too heavy to carry.  Even if the armour itself is powered, I'd have though the sword is going to be too massive to wield effectively.  And if it is carbon-fibre, it's likely to be too light.

I need to post here once in a while... So, here is a new picture of Ren. In fact, there are even two Rens in here. One "Good" Ren, and one "Evil" Ren. However, I'll leave it to you to decide which one is Good, and which one is Evil. Just remember that looks can be deceiving... By the way, the "Evil" Ren (whichever one he is >:3) is actually Ren's replica, created in the Genesis Forge with a purpose of killing real Ren. This replica's mind is rather unstable, and his powers are even more so, as the daemon Prince Azriel, who created him, wanted Ren 2.0 to be a mockery of real Ren, a perversion of all what Ren stood for. Why? Mostly because Azri is an evil bugger who like to mess with people's minds and make them suffer and despair. What else could be expected from a daemon Prince, anyway? :3
I'll try colouring this picture later, and fixing Ren's wings which were messed up by my scanner later. I am really not looking forward to colouring it in MS Paint, like I did with my other coloured pictures, so I'll have to learn how to use GIMP. And by the way, the ground is supposed to be cowered with blood, if you wonder.

Whose blood?

I'm kind of curious about what evil Ren's arm is doing there - is that the point of a sword straight at the viewer?  Also, it's nice to see Ren in a good mood.  (At least I hope he's in a good mood, since the idea of him standing in a pool of blood with a trippy grin on his face is something I don't want to think about too hard)

It'll be cool to see it coloured.
