I know your excited hon but you might want to pay attention to your wording.

With a Name like Wii youhave to be careful what you say

Plugging in your wii brings to mind all sorts of images

Gabi

That's your problem, not his. You tend to form odd mental images about everything.

I couldn't get one. there were massive lineups over here.. despite the fact one of the stores had 60, they had managed to hand out tickets to the first 60 in line, BEFORE THE STORE EVEN OPENED. needless to say there's no wii anywhere, and people ARE picking up more than one with buddies and family members so they can get rich rather than actually play them.

wii are not amused.

Right, as of now it's already looking to be very good.  The downloadable game list is a bit short right now but should be expanding soon.  The control style does take a little getting used to though, especially trying to find the right height for the sensor.  Can't wait for more good tites to come out now, picked up Zelda(duh), Red Stee and Call of Duty 3.

Edit: Also Target had 60 units also, and 54 of them were accounted for before the store even opened.  Good thing I went early and some didn't show they also ran out of Zelda games.

Snap!  Is the Wii out already?!
Awesome, now tell me when brawl comes out, then I'll acquire enough money to get the system.

the right would be "curse you US bastards" because I'm american and still need to wait for sometime in december for launch. at least Nintendo isn't like Sony, kicking the europe launch date to march and not launching here at all, not that I actually care about PS3 myself >:3

I think is actually very nice they kept the launch dates not so far from each other, so we won't have to envy the people who already had the chance to get one for too long
Keyboard not detected. Press F1 to resume.

Yeah well, not that I care too much about mainstream consoles, but I may acquire one once it is available in this part of America and once I dont have to fight to grab one :P

Pet peeve alert!

American is a perfectly accurate way of describing people living in the United States of America.  I can find no better way of doing so.  What do you want to call us, United States of Americans?  United Statesians (there are other United States in the world FYI)?  Should I demand you refer to yourself as a Federative Republic of Brazilian?  Furthermore you are not an American in any sense.  Brazil is located in SOUTH America, making you both a Brazilian and a South American, but not an American.  There is no ambiguity here unless you want to start arbitrarily combining continents or using archaic map systems.  But to do so would be pointless.  Americans live in the United States of America which is part of North America, Brazilians live in Brazil which is part of South America.  Everything works.

The same goes for me, I think it has something to do with incredible immaturity.

Unfortunately, I can't make Wii jokes or even say the name, because my dog would wet the carpet. And no, that is not a joke or exaggeration of any kind. I blame my own poor choice of words for commands...

Likewise. And I hereby challenge you. Assuming they really manage to get Brawl online, of course.

Problem is your logic is fawed.  They would still be Americans, just not "American" Americans.  There are a couple countries in the Carribean, that may not be part of the US, but the are still counted as legal US citizens with all the benefits, but few, if any, of the drawbacks.

Well an update on it.  I've been having a lot of fun right now playing Twilight Princess, interesting how some of the story is already, get turned into the wolf form in less than 20-30 minutes depending on your play style.  They have a small list of games that you can donload from older systems, but not many that realy say "must have" right now though.  Need to buy points for them, 2000~$20 and they range from 500-1000 atm.  Only one I've seen that's tempting is Altered Beast.  Few other neat option built in like weather and news areas, later on you can browse the web it looks like.  Well, time to try out one of my other games now either Red Steel of Call of Duty 3.

Supercheese

Bah, I'mma gonna have to wait for the second shipment of... the consoles. All the local stores that sold them were - predictably - mobbed.

I've made so many Wii jokes already none of them are funny anymore. Furthermore, any jokes I didn't make, Encyclopedia Dramatica did...

Those that 'Mii' thing work?

Gabi

The problem is that we call the whole continent America, while you call your country that way. The Spanish word for people from the US is "estadounidences", but there's no word like that in English.

Ohh Ma'am you wound me deeply

course it's true but still Wii invites these sorts of comments

Damaris

I agree with GayHare.  It does.

and I also have to agree with Sheridan.  I would bet money that the Brazilian(?) word for US Citizens loosely translates into something dirty >)  And quite frankly, I wouldn't blame them.

Gabi

'Estadounidenses' would translate to 'Unitedstatesians'. When people want to use a derogative term they use 'yanquis', which would translate to 'Yankees'. I don't use that term, though. I think it's stupid to put someone down because of their nationality.

But Damaris, I'm Argentinian, not Brazilian. I really don't know how they call you people in Brazil.

I've messed around with it a little but gave up on it for now.  It really is only in a basic model type right now.  Surprising it doesn't have any catgirl type skins on it considering how Japan is with that...

...So they really are from the South. :O

Do they intend to rise again?

Damaris

Sorry, Gabi.  I keep getting the South American posters confused, and was trying to finish the post before dashing off to work.  I apologize.

I live in the Northeastern USA, and I am not offended by the term Yankee.  It's just informal slang, generally pretty good natured in use, though I can certainly imagine contexts in which it is used in a derogatory fashion.  As far as offense is concerned, both the causing and taking therof, intent is far more important than the actual wording.
