I put a note up in the channel topic. I put a note up on the server motd. I put a note up on the irc page on the webserver. I did all of these on Monday, so they've been up for at least 6 days.

How many notes did you want me to put up, and where? Perhaps the DMFA homepage?


It went down again because I was asked to go out while midway through the upgrade, and rather than leave the server semi-working, and possibly insecure, I shut everything down while I was AFK. It'll be back up again soon, barring Acts of Wife.

Now that you mention Twitter... I don't have a Twitter account. Never saw the point in making one. Isn't it like LiveJournal except you can only make very short posts?

The constraints of the short posts tends to lead to much more freeform posts and comments than an actual journal. It's somewhere's like a cross between a journal and a chat program.

Meh, I just never really got into those kinds of things, be it Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, what have you. In fact, the sole reason I have a Facebook account is because at Ramstein, my coworkers would put out news about events (parties, get-togethers, pub crawls etc.) almost exclusively Via Facebook. If you didn't have an account, you missed them all.

MOTD is available for _every_ client. And important details about the server are put there.

Channel topic in the main channel I run on there. If you want to be in another channel, feel free to miss out on minor details like this. *shrug* I figured the MOTD was enough. If you want, I can start up another twitter account just for server upgrades, but, frankly, the people who pay me to run it got emailed.
