#1000's Fan Picture Final/done on the 1st post

Has anyone heard from PBH lately? Otherwise, would anyone like to volunteer to assemble the pieces? If I weren't buried under a mountain of pending tasks, I'd offer myself.

Last I heard of her she was starting to assemble the big picture, but I have no idea of how far she got with that task. I'd volunteer to do it, had I any idea how to do it.

You'd have to draw a background (sand, sea, sky) and then copy/paste everything to it, and color my sand castle and whatever other parts of the background have been drawn by others.

I know what has to be done, but I'm a complete newbie when it comes to Photoshop(I don't even use layers)- there has to be someone better who can do it(I'm not trying to shun responsibility here, but this has to be done right)! Plus, I'm still hoping the Prof will come through.

I was about to offer, but it'll be a bit too close of a run, I think.... I'm going to be away most of Saturday by the looks of things.  If all the material is there now and I have it tonight I might be able to do it then, but I'm not sure I can make any promises.

Right now the only one who has all the materials is the Prof. Everyone will have to resend all their stuff to you if you decide to give it a shot. This is one of the reasons I don't wish to give up on PBH. Plus, this is her project to begin with.

No I am not dead, but I wish I was.... Goddess I have been pulling 12 hour days and 6 days week the last month.. Okay... I will have something for the masses by the SUNDAY.  I hope.  I have all the character, and I am trying to work them into a good look large picture...So it makes sense... I hope to have a draft to the artists tomorrow.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know, while I made a post a while back expressing an interest in helping, I sorta let it drop and in the end, I decided to go with an idea of my own. I worked on it and I just e-mailed the result to Amber.
I did want to say thanks to you guys though. This thread and all the talk about the 1000th comic really helped put my head in gear for providing Amber with something to celebrate this landmark. Also, because this thread started up so early, it really gave me time to get my mind comfortable with the task (despite me always being nervous of undertaking creative ventures) and enabled me me making an early start that let me make the deadline. It's highly unlikely I would have completed anything with short notice as the panic alone would have taken up a huge chunk of time, let alone doing the actual work.

Anyway, thanks again guys, and of course, thanks to Amber for creating such a great comic and bringing us all together in the first place.

Well, since I did a painting to celebrate the occation as well, I've been wondering wether to start a new thread on the forum for all 1000th DMFA strip related artwork, or if I should instead hijack this thread for it.
Any ideas of which should be done?

Sorry, PBH. ImageShack must have been down at that moment, but it's working now. I've colored the sand castle in an attempt to make up for the lost time. I'm afraid I did it in a rush, so it's not so great, but in any case it's better than having white sand.
