I say this because I've noticed that I have +1/-13 under that IQ thing. Why is that?

Karma/IQ doesn't mean anything on this forum. People click on it just for fun. Check this topic for further details.

And, in general, don't take things so seriously. People make jokes all the time and don't mean anything by it. With time you may learn to recognize when someone is being serious, and when s/he isn't. And when in doubt, you can ask.
