So, who else is line for a raping from Irene?

My normally immune state of NJ is in line for a direct impact, as is pretty much everything north of South Carolina.

I expect large quantities of DOOM, followed by much screaming and gnashing of teeth.

Originally, Irene was veering toward Florida, but right now all we're getting is a ton of rain. It's heading straight for one of my friends in Maryland.

Sending well wishes from Hurricane central, which is... inexplicably devoid of hurricanes so far. Joyous.

Well, don't get much of those here.

I mostly have to deal with thunderstorms and tornado warnings.

Still... hope the damage isn't to bad where it hits. Seems like mother nature just can't stop rocking the us.

you just know that somewhere, a syfy channel writer is rubbing his hands with glee at this golden opportunity for yet another poorly budgeted movie.

I am being struck by the doomicane as we speak!

The rain is quite torrential and the winds are picking up steadily.

I fear we shall have trees down soon and may lose power.  We've already had a record wet August, so the tree roots are poorly anchored in the muddy ground.  With enough wind, they'll begin to topple.
