This has the makings of a disaster.

Also, it seems this diversion will run for two weeks. Will it also replace Abel's Story?

I never D'awwwwed this hard ever in my life.

e_voyager

i'm not even sure i want to know what elmo's world is but i'm guessing that this is going to be a slice of life mini with most of the characters being shown in there holiday spirit.
I thank Silver Fox and Tiger_T for the wonderful Yappies.  all around the universe powers learned to hiss and curse at this, my creation but am i real or pure creation?
I'm never where i was, rarely where i want to be, but always were i am needed.
this world is not my own. but some how i wish that i could belong. Blame It On Boxey

I would imagine all artist such as Ms. Williams enjoys being able to "step out of character" for a little non-canon diversion and fun. So far this has the makings of a fun little side trip.

Quote from: Amber's Rant
I mentioned last week that I had plans to do a short little holiday story since I never get the chance to normally. So yeah. I'm doing it. Its only 6 pages long so not counting Abel's Story (which will be updating on Mondays like normal), this small snippet of seasonal whimsy will be going for about two weeks before we return to regularly scheduled DMFA.

So. Not counting Abel's Story, it probably won't count Abel's Story. And it probably won't take Abel's Story's place, because she's NOT COUNTING ABEL'S STORY.

God. Can't you guys read, or something?

Sheesh.

Also from Amber's Rant:

The next step will be when the rant refers to things that are supposedly said in the rant, but actually aren't.

Someday, when we look back on this, we'll both laugh nervously and change the subject. More is good. All is better.

I wonder if Jyrras is gonna make a mechanical santa to make sure Deebs has a merry xmass

Oh my.

I hope not.

Could you imagine the damage a robot Santa would do to Amber's world?

Let it be a reminder from Future Rama that a robot Santa is a terrible idea.

"Your all Naughty. All very naughty indeed."

"Except for you Azlan, Matilda, and Aliyka."

"These are for you.  :doommuffin :doommuffin :doommuffin"

And after the gifts are handed out the the screaming chase of the other characters beggins.

Please no Robot Santa.
I perfer my spam cooked on a skillet.

Deebs and Jyrras are absolutely wonderful. I love their chemistry.

I know I'm gonna love this arc.

Aracia

Oh my... I hope Deebs' inevitable pinning of stockings on the heater doesn't cause a fire.

a fire? that beast looks like it's been made from pure explodium!  :B

I don't know about a robot Santa but there are a number of classic approaches to Christmas episodes.

Christmas Carol pastiche with various DMFA characters serving the roles of the ghosts.  Just imagine Wildy as any of them.

It's a Wonderful Life pastiche

The Grinch pastiche

Various versions where Santa Claus and/or Christmas is endangered and must be rescued:  The Hogfather, Santa Claus versus the Martians, The Nightmare Before Christmas, etc.

*** ***

As for KISS saves Christmas, that is why I included the "etc.".  Otherwise, I would have been going forever.

Ernest saves Christmas
Elmo saves Christmas
Mater saves Christmas (the tow truck from Cars)
Hanukkah Harry saves Christmas
Felix the Cat saves Christmas

'The Powerpuff Girls saved Christmas on one episode.  Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Olive the Other Reindeer both involved saving Christmas.

What I'd really like to see is Oscar the Grouch saves Christmas.

*** *** ***

Another edit:

I forgot the various variations of A Miracle on 34th Street

Yes, Virginia, there really was a Gimbels, although they have since gone bankrupt.

You don't, trust me--and so I'm not going to tell you.

Just that no one should operate heavy machinery while watching it.

Well I guess having Debs around is good practice for when Jyrras has kids, They generally can't remember the entire carol either.

It is your duty as an Uncle to teach your sibling's kids all the great songs, jokes, and bodily functions timing that are the core of all family traditions!  >:3

Someone has to teach them to "pull my finger." That and insure all gifts for the youngest ones make lots of noise. Lots and lots of noise...

Ah, yes... Remembering long ago, as a child making up different words to Christmas-season carols (Not actually Christmas carols, since they weren't religious, but seasonal nonetheless)...

To the tune of "Frosty the Snowman"

We built a snowman,
Filled him up with TNT!
Children came to play,
We blew them away,
See them hanging from the trees!
We iced the highway,
Just to watch the traffic clog!
Then Old Man Jones,
said the Cops he'd phone,
as he released his dog.
There must have been some poison in that piece of meat it found...
'Cause the minute Fido swallowed it, he began to thrash around!
Oh, we all love Christmas,
The entire neighborhood!
And we're waiting up for Santa's sleigh,
'Cause we've been oh, so good!
Which would you like to be, ignorant or misled?

Teach them this one instead:

Jingle bells, batman smells, robin ran away, wonder woman lost her bosom on the motorway, hey!

Bad, BAD use of the shameless Monty Python reference.  Even worse, it's the same one everyone uses.

Why not?  I learned that as a kid from other kids.  So even if you don't teach it to them, they'll hear it from other kids.
