Cake Day

Hello all

Well tomarrow is August 8th and thats my birthday so I figured it would be a good time to raise the specter of my birthday cake again.

I've already got my plans laid out so I know what I'm doing

First I'm going to get up early and make breakfast I figure bacon hashbrowns, and "The Big One"  it's a giant pancake designed for several people

then for the actual cake I'll do a two layer chocolate cake shaped like a bunny decorated with butter cream Icing.  I figure white for the body, pink for the bow and nose and blue for the eye

What I wouldn't give ot be woken up with pancakes and maple syrup. Mmmm. Or castor sugar and lemon. Or both, for different pancakes, for that matter...

Hmmm... I'll need to buy a ferret catching device. Preferably a basket of musk sticks propped underneath a cardboard box with a stick. Yes, that should do perfectly.

well today has started out pretty good

I managed to get up before anyone else and made breakfast..



For my first atempt at it I'm rather proud of how The Big One came out

I also realised it's been mentioned frequently by the auther of a comic I read.  The creaor of nodwick talks about the German pancake from a reasturant near bashcon and it turns out thats what this is.

the reasturant serves theres covered in powdered sugar but I didn't do that

there was plenty for the three of us in this one pancake

not bad for a recipie I got out of a videogame instruction manual

I'm almost tempted to print that photo out and eat it. It looks too good.

well the cake didn't come out as well as I hoped but I think I did okay since most of my tools are packed up.

I didn't have the right food colors  so I made do

Butter cream doesn't decorate very well but it does taste good

first chance i have to say happy birthday, any other good items pop up on your birthday?


i find a fun trend is many of the people i know get pies or ice cream cakes on their brithday. but i feel tortes are largely ignored. if you want a really good pancake sometime ask for an oseberg   pancake.

actualy I realy didn't get anything for my birthday

my aunt gave me a small ceramic deer, she knows I like nicknacks,  I didn't have the heart to tell her deer arn't my thing,  I like gargoyles, dragons puter figurines and bunnies but oh well its a nice deer
