if is men x men is a hand shake or if is long ago they don't see each other they hug themselves....i always kiss my father and brother though...one kiss then hug...

Poor Zina. From the look of it she's had a few bad experiences and now she can't feel the warmth and friendliness of a hug, not its healing properties.

I've grown in Argentina and, to me,  the biggest cultural clash with people from the Northern countries is the one about physical expressions of affection. Here it's normal to kiss the cheeks of your friends and acquaintances as an everyday greeting, and hugs and caresses are common among people who care for each other. Over there, those things seemed to be reserved for little more than sexual practices.

I'd feel alienated if I couldn't hug my friends, or stroke them gently to show my support, and that I care for them. Those things help me whenever words fail me. I wouldn't know what to do without them.

Just to clarify....
I don't mind hugs from friends and family. It's the hugs and 'friendliness' from strangers and people I barely know(IE we talked a few times on the internet, hi, we are not the best of chums) that bother me, kthx.
