Heyo boys and girls!  It's time once again for Ambaaargh to embrace the glorious rounds of Capitalism!

Basical Overview:I'll be selling off the original black and white artwork of Chapter 27: Randomosity.
Which is basically: http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_1118.php  Strip 1118  all the way through http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_1200.php  Strip 1200.    82 strips in total!

On top of that, the winner gets a colour commission of their choosing. (More details on this will be below)

This auction will be for about a week, ending on 12AM (EST) Monday, June 6th.

So how do I do this auction thing?
Simple! Just email me at amber@mabsland.com with the subject "Auction Bid"  and give your current offer along with the name you'd like to go by on the listing.  I'll then update this page here to reflect the highest amount being offered currently.   If you'd rather have your name nondisclosed, feel free to mention and I'll put the name of the highest bidder as Anonymous(A) or Anonymous(B) in the event more than one person wants to not disclose their name.  At the end of the auction, whoever is the one with the highest bid wins.

So commission you say?
Yes!  As an added bonus, the winner will also get a full colour commission done by me.  It can either be done digitally or via real medium (coloured pencils/markers) and can contain up to 3 characters. (I may allow for more, but in that event it would need to be discussed)    As a disclaimer, I do hold the right to refuse the commission if it contains a subject matter I don't agree or approve of. (I somewhat doubt this will happen but I feel I should add it just on the offchance the person who wins tries to request hardcore porn or gore)

The commission will be worked on right after Anthrocon (June 26th) and depending on what the winner prefers, I can either send the original art of the commission with the comics, or seperately.  If you go digital, I can give the hi-rez files as well, or create a print and mail that.

What's the point of this?
Well...besides the fact that money is delicious...the main goal of this auction is to actually raise funds for the DMFA store and for travel fees regarding conventions.   The big downside to not going with a place like cafepress or whatnot is that you often need to buy your stuff before you can sell it. And usually you have to buy it in bulk.  This auction is to help offset some of the initial costs so there can be more diversity and options in the near future regarding DMFA merchandise.  The more this auction makes, the more my mercentile overlords can put into making stuff like mugs, mousepads, GM-screens, print-exclusive side comics regarding what happened at Kria's party....etc.

It also helps get the ball rolling regarding convention stuff. Them cons be pricey beasts. And while my wonderful husband handles the rent and the food and most of the bills, we can't really afford to go willy nilly with cons and investing in products. It's my hope that once the store has momentum, it will basically help handle the costs of such things. Sort of a self-maintaining organism.  As such, this auction is to give it that initial boost.

Payment methods
As this auction is not going to have the money going to me but to my mercantile overlords who live in the states, the method of payment can probably be a bit more flexible.  Paypal is great, but if someone really wants to go money order or check or even possibly splitting the payments up, odds are something can be worked out. Just email to ask.

In the event the highest bidder cannot actually afford to pay, the second-highest bidder will be contacted and asked if they wish to buy it for the price they had offered.

Financial Goal
It is admittedly my sheepish wishful hope that this auction can make around $450, but I realize that is a pretty hefty number.  If it does by some means make it to or past that mark, I'll add in some special bonus thing as a way of saying thanks.

So I think that just about covers it.  Auction Powers Activaaaate~

Peeps are more than free to comment. I mostly am posting so as to keep track of the bids everytime I modify the main post so that peeps who may be interested know when something has happened rather than checking the thread.

Speaking of which, Daniel is back in ze lead with $600.  :V

JaxiD

Well I don't have any money... But if you let me have the sketches for free I'll give you some paper clips and a subway coupon. =D

Amber Williams

Blurf Subway!  That's where food goes to no longer be food but penance for ones sins.  'A'

On the other hand...I do love me some paperclips...

JaxiD

So then we are both having a deal yes?

... when you edit a post, it shows up as new in the forum software, so there's no real need on that basis. On the other hand, it does highlight what you're editing, so...

Six of one, half a dozen of the other, I think. *shrug*

Those of us that are too darn poor to bid in the auction enjoy watching Amber go on.  I get this image of her glowing smile much like her puffer fish ego when it puffs up.  :mowcookie

Also I was an assistant handeler... I mean manager at a couple of Subways.  She is right it is where food goes to become penance and was the fourth suckiest job I ever had.  (We had several escape attempts when I was there... both food and personnel) (My mind escaped the first time, the rest of me took a bit longer  :mowsad)

Of course that was many years ago.  Hell they had only the regular bread then, no choices...  GOD IM OLD  :mowsad

I think I just have a personal aversion to fast food places that try to counter with the healthy angle.  The amount of times I have shaken my fist at a bag of chips that sounded fairly decent until they had to boast about how healthy they were...is a lot of times.

But REGARDLESS!  From the shadows comes forth an Afonas with a bid of 650!  :mowninja

JaxiD

Well somebody just had to come along and up the stakes to outbid some paper clips...

Amber Williams

Counter-attack by Jim for $750. It's super effective!  :boogie

Anker Steadfast

Looks like you could have been a bit more ambitious about your goal !

Still good to see  things going so well, even though there's no swedish fish involved this time around.  :D

GAH - I have been lured into fiddling with forum tamagotchies.

Amber Williams

Danielnating the countryside...Danielnating all the peasants. Danielnating all the people...with $800 auction biiiiid.

AND DANIEL COMES IN THE NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT~ :kirby

Anker Steadfast

I dunno about the commission, but the bidding is pretty epic as well. ;-]

iceick

Who boy, $850 that's a bit out of my price range (by about $800), however, I do have sketch pads, pencils, paint, etc.

Amber Williams

Daniel came out of the east on a horse with a name.  I think it's name was Mipsy.  Or maybe that was his cats name.

Regardless! He came out of the east and bid $900.  :januscat

Anker Steadfast

Impressive, they have just doubled what you had hoped for. :D

.. gotta admit, that's some pretty epic bidding !

My oldest is playing Pokemon Colloseum on Gamecube right now.  I recognize that quote!!!

An hour ago, I was out and about doing errands when he begged his Mom to call me on my cell.

"Dad! The WORST THING EVER just happened! I found the lady who was purifying my Slugma and she told me 'There is no room in your inventory for your darling Pokemon!' What do I do?!?"

"Jake, try opening up one of your 6 slots for your battle Pokemon. You know, by..."

"OK, Dad. I understand. Bye."

I think that this is a sign that in the not too distant future the bidding on Amber Originals is gonna be huge.  I only wish I had the resources to invest in them now at the ground floor so to speak.  :mowcookie

From out of the shadows returns Jim with $1000.   :erk

Man. At this rate I'm gonna have to gold-plate that commission. :U

Anker Steadfast

It's not just going to be a commision - It's going to be an EPIC comission !  :D

... or maybe a painting.
... or a footwarmer.

GAH - I have been lured into fiddling with forum tamagotchies.

Entering the final 24 hours of the auction, and Daniel returns to the lead with $1050!  :bunny
