are they out of the story or something?

Mao

I've talked with Turnsky about this before and, iirc, no.  They're loose ends that will be tied up eventually.

McCloud

Oh okay, I was just a bit curious.

Turnsky

if you look carefully, you can see that Mary has appeared once before, she's working tables at a local tavern.... let's just say she's not enjoying her attire at the moment. hehe

If you've paid attention, Cubi's will always have their wings shown.

I don't think you are remembering the right parts there.

I believe Mary was seen in the sixth panel here:
http://www.ariannia.com/2008/01/01212008/
where Milnea was not showing her wings.

She did reveal them, and her species, on the next page. Likewise, Ink did not initially show his wings having them appear only when he was working on Luke while (presumably) alone and later in House G'rel. Janus was also listed as an Incubus but, to my knowledge, he has not yet shown any visible traits outside of his cast page.

Well, ok.  Cubi show them when they're relaxed or when they want someone to see their wings, or something like that.  However, she doesn't reveal her species on the next page, at least not by saying what she is.  Its only visible as to what species she is (Red Panda)

well more to the point that the Cubi don't want anybody to know they actually exist.. outside of a few, they're barely even "urban legend" status.

What would they figure is worse, people knowing they're cubi, or people thinking they're thaelith (or angels or demons, if they exist on Ariannia)?
