Yeah, but a little suffering can go a long way.

...which questions? Anything in particular? But to answer, I for one do like answering questions from time to time.

What is this?  A euphemism?  Do you enjoy the dryad enchants?  Do you pay some guy on the side of the street to enchant you every night?

Because people get holes in their pockets in convenient geographic locations.

Euphemisms are fine.  The question is, what's he think it's a euphemism for?

If you're laughing hard enough when you hurt yourself, is it possible you won't feel pain?

What makes a dub sucky, and how can it be avoided?
The Real Myth of Sisyphus:
The itsy-bitsy spider went up the water spout,
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
And the itsy-bitsy spider went up the spout again...

Funny, that post does include a question, but not a question mark. It's the opposite of what some people *cough*llearch*cough* often do. I'll allow Shades to answer... if he feels like it and the topic's rating allows it.

Only if you're numb for another reason.

The voices and intonation of the original actors can't be perfectly imitated by the dubbers, and the emotions conveyed by the speech are lost. In addition to that seeing their lips move one way and the voices say something else is annoying. And it becomes even worse when the dubbers change the meaning of what's being said to make a localized version rather than trying to keep it as close as possible to the original. And the latter is very hard to do, because not only do they have to find translations for phrases that don't always have an exact equivalent in the destination language, but also make them so that they fit in the same interval in which the character is speaking.

Best solution: avoid dubs altogether. If you don't speak the original language, find a version with subtitles.
