Video game moments that made you cry

What heart-wrenching gaming moments do you remember?

I know this has happened to me once before, but I cannot, for the life of me, remember what it was.
The ending scene of The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time however, I think, did bring one or two tears to my eye. In a good way though. I think. I honestly can't remember.

Also, Grand Prix Legends makes me cry, because it's so fucking hard.

Funny thing, according to the IEEE standard, when you divide by zero, you don't get this.  You actually get an exponent of 255 and an arbitrary, nonzero mantissa.

Of course, if your processor doesn't support the IEEE standard, you get a very untraceable bug and a whole lot of crying.
(P.S.  Looking up "divided by zero" on Google Images with SafeSearch off results in a lot of freaky porn for some reason)

I don't think any game moments have made me cry, but there have been some occasional happy moments, such as seeing the new Ion Cannon in C&C3.

Each of the Fatal Frame games endings have brought a tear to my eye. I love that series but man it's gut wrenching after you beat them

doom 64, the moment i started the play it, it was so horrid.. and the plasma gun gave me a chronic headache. 

but nomad soul really turned me about emotionally.. freaky game, it was.

When I was like 5 I turned the difficulty of Street Fighter two up to 8 and cried cause there was no way in hell I could beat that cheat M. Bison.

This actually made my teammates nearby cry tears of joy over teamspeak. I was playing in a BF1942 desert combat tournemant in the map El Alamein and there was a couple Bradleys and an M1A1 heading towards the eastern flag that my teammates just captured but were otherwise defenseless against those tanks. I was flying overhead in my Mirage F1 and as I saw them I immediately crashed my jet into the M1A1 blowing it up as I parachuted over one of the Bradleys and blew that one up with a land mine, then I blew up the other Bradley with a SMAW rocket and we gunned down the guys running out of the burning tank. We went on to win that match, definately one of the greatest moments in gaming for me.

But I've never actually cried.


Except maybe that one time that I totally caught Dialga with a Quick Ball. But those were tears of joy.

Final Fantasy VII. No, not when Aeris died, but that was party member 1 taken away. Not when Cloud went AWOL, though that was party member 2. I got darn frustrated when Tifa needed to stay behind IMMEDIATELY AFTER being the designated leader, those three people being my powerhouse team throughout the game to that point and suddenly not playable, but I figured it was okay, because Barrett would take up the position of leader and I'd leveled him decently. He didn't. It was Cid who took leadership. Throughout the game I had one character I NEVER used in battle, and it wasn't Yuffie or Cait-Sith. I didn't cry then, no, not until I got out into the field and, no matter what combination of party members I used along with Cid, got my tail handed to me every single battle. My three best party members were gone, I was forced to use my weakest party member in every battle, and on top of that, I was broke trying to buy new weapons and equipment. Climbing out of the hole I was in would require resting and saving after every successful battle. I cried. Then I completely abandoned that game. Years later I played FFVII again, but I have never gotten anywhere close to the end of Disc 1.

Wasn't Rare formed from Ultimate?  They put out some kick-ass spectrum games in the 80s. 

Call me cold, but I don't think there has ever been a video game that has actually reduced me to tears.  U7SI might have done if I didn't already know that Dupre was in for it, and there were a few other depressing moments, like when Mother Hetchel died in LOOM.

Bizarrely the closest moments that I can think of both occurred last night in Morrowind.  One was where Ra'Zhar drowned while we were swimming from Tel Branora to Azura's coast - I think it was because the slaughterfish had weakened him.  I was kind of angry that I hadn't protected him well enough, but he did look kind of sad and pathetic bobbing in the water like that.  Memo to self: try and make a 'water-walking on others' spell.

The saddest moment was when I accidentally shot Ma'Dara in the back with a crossbow while he was trying to defend himself against a Kwama worm, killing him instantly.  That really was upsetting.  I was sort of like "Oh my god... I'm so sorry..." and then I started thinking about how I'd taken this sort of farmer kid (The Ma' prefix means 'child' or 'still a virgin'), thrust a sword and armour into his hand and used some mind-control spell to brainwash him into following me around, where I led him to die by my own hand in some godforsaken valley, and was it really a good idea?
