I think that URL is iffy, but yes. Hawkwind did a concept album about Elric which sparked my interest.  Ultima 7 also had a black sword which fed on people's life force.  And a seer called Hawkwind in some of the earlier games.
Surely a coincidence...

EDIT: Thinking about it, I was reading the Elric stories a lot while the Johan Cross era was being written...
