I don't know Ashley's history, so I can't say much about him.  But as I recall, the modus operandus of Simeon and his anti-wing group was to kill Creatures from ambush.  Simeon used a crossbow, which doesn't require great strength to use.  It's also not terribly surprising that he couldn't fight back against Keaton.  She had taken him by surprise, after all, and was holding the equivalent of a knife to his throat.  She may not have graduated from SAIA, but she's very good at killing people.  So, Fenny old boy, you'll need to come up with better evidence than that if you're going to convince me that Daryil is engaged in a eugenics program.

Oh, and doesn't eugenics work by selecting for desired traits in offspring?  Fenny seems to be implying that Daryil is doing some sort of direct genetic manipulation, rather than (un)natural selection.

It did bug me how pathetic Simeon had become, also the fact that he had been essentially 'reprogrammed' by Daryil into his lover and no one seemed to care.
