Major flooding in Buenos Aires!

It's quite serious from the news, with dozens dead, loss of power and water, sewage everywhere.

Does anyone know if Gabi is ok?

From what I remember, her house is in a more elevated area, but the park and part of the city we walked in near the river was certainly innundated.

I'm OK! I was not in Buenos aires at the time, I was - and still am - in Rio de Janeiro for a congress. But fortunately my family is OK, my house was flooded but the water was gone by the end of the day. Thanks for your concern.

I heard it hit even harder in La Plata, but at least my supervisor and the other professor I know who live there are safe and sound. I have yet to hear from some friends I have there, but I don't have many ways to communicate while I'm here, I don't even have much time to get online. I hope they're fine, I will try to contact them when I get home.
