I still wonder if Pip is (at least) bilingual and hiding it, or we're just getting Mab's understanding of what he's saying here. His facial expression looks more intelligent and dignified than in most other strips. Besides, Amber didn't use the standard convention of putting dialog in other languages inside < >, so I think he is speaking normally (whether you want to call it english, furraesh, or whatever).

I really like Pip's pose in the bottom panel in a way such as he was expecting you to choose the one about not being able to understand.


On a slightly tangent note, the "Wow, that actually explains quite a bit" option reminds me of Moppy from DT by Tim Dawson.

That might explain why Pip is so aggressive. He could be used to beings coming over and trying to take a scale... which no doubt hurts quite a bit, on both ends.

Common is what it's called in Dnd. in Star Wars, it's Basic. And I don't think there's any evidence that Jabba being able to speak Basic, his vocal cords are probablhy a lot different when he evolved from a giant slug.
