Yes, I'm back. I've been gone for awhile because of computer troubles. However on the plus side I finally figured out what was wrong. The CPU fan wasn't spinning. Well I'm glad to be back and hope somebody here remembers me.

Once upon a time in 2003, when I worked in an office the size of a large broom cupboard, I heard a sound like workmen drilling the road. Because we were on the 4th floor, it would have to be fairly nearby so I went to the window and looked down to see if I could spot them.

I couldn't see anything, so I went back to my desk. A few minutes later the network went down hard. The sound I'd heard was the last gasp of the main server's power supply fan.

We stripped the thing down, I cleaned the fan out and even re-lubricated it but the CPU was sufficiently toasted that we couldn't even boot the Advanced Server 2000 CD without it bluescreening.

Now I always check the fans out of sheer paranoia.

Oh god, you're right! I'll never be able to look at Pacman the same way ever again! So what is it when the ghosts change color? And maybe now we know why he spent a few games dressed as the Missis... he was hiding from some dealers he owed money too!

Update: I just realized that I wasn't around for my birthday. T.T That makes me so sad. Especiallye I was in Vegas, although it's not true that there's nothing to do there but gamble. I'm 16 and I found myself plenty entertained without having to gamble. I was there for a whole week and I ran out of things to do before I had to leave.
