Granted.  Instead of using up your milkshake mix, you leave it in the cupboard.  The next day, a nuclear war erupts, killing all life on the planet's surface and destroying pretty much everything except your milkshake mix.  A few centuries later, a freak lightning strike hits the milkshake mix causing certain proteins to bind together and create a new lifeform.  When humans come out of their underground shelters, they find the world is under the control of the mighty Nesquik empire, and are all swiftly killed off.  (That's how you do it )
