While idly surfing the net today I came across numerous sites, one of which in the link below, reporting of a new Castlevania game for the Wii; "Castlevania: Judgement". More interestingly, however, is the fact that this game will be a one on one beat-em-up fighting game. A part of me thinks it's a kickass idea, but another part of me is aware that Konami aren't exactly known for their fighting games, and as such the issue of experience in creating a fighting game and how well its done comes to attention. Then again, everyone has to start somewhere, and I'm sure Konami will be able to bring the right stuff to the table, so to speak.

Thoughts?

If it gets confirmed, I dunno how I'd feel. Right now it's idle speculation until a more respectable source confirms it.

Nimrods Son

could be a howay, the status abrs in the screns look totally un-castlevania...
I hope it's a fake, cause would only buy a Wii for being able to swing the whip.
Which, obviously, if this game's for real, is not gonna happen soon.

My comments in the first post of this thread was only if this game -was- real. I know full well it could be a hoax or if it isn't it could be cancelled etc. Just thought I'd mention it since these forums hold a lot of Castlevania fans.

Nimrods Son

no hoax, obviously. What I'd like to express is my disgust in totally overusing the Symphony nimbus by focusing the fighting game - needlessly- mostly around SOTN's cast (instead of, for example, opting for something we haven't been overtreated with / or choosing the Saturn version's additional castle blocks as battle areas / which reminds me of one thing:

IT'S TOTALLY STUPID TO NOT CHRISTEN A CASTLEVANIA FIGHTING GAME "BATTLE ARENA"

)

Have they actually released a statement on what characters will be in it?

I've really gotta say that I've got mixed emotions on this one as well.  I've followed the Castlevania series quite closely and I've reveled in it's side scrolling wonder since childhood and even more recently on my ds, but something just seems unnatural to have it as a fighter.

Then again I enjoyed Dirge of Cerberus quite a bit, so who knows.  Maybe this black sheep will amuse, but I approach it very cautiously.

Castle Pokemetroid

What if it turns out to be a side scrolling fighter?

Like the original Street Fighter?  Or any other SNES Era fighters?

Looks like it's going to be a one-on-one fighter รก la soul calibur/tekken etc.
