Fewer devices between endpoints.  There really is not other good way without ripping up the whole internet.

I'm going to have to go with no.  SG-1, towards the end, got a chronic case of, 'should have ended, but then the scifi channel renewed the series at the last moment, leaving the writers scrambling to make a plot for a new series.'  SG-1 is best if you top watching after Richard Dean Anderson is promoted to Brigadier General.  Atlantis wasn't so bad in that regard, though watching Amanda Tapping try and still be the pretty young one was... pain... pure pain.

Influencing continuities is an amazing ability, though not one to be thrown around lightly.  It tends to leave behind artifacts of times forgotten and burred, out of sync with the new reality.  Especially if the desired results can be had by just stabbing the guy instead.
