shapter...that wasn't a chapter, that was a scene. boo. Just kidding. I like the story.
In some ways I regret chapter 2, but it was necessary to lay the groundwork.  Chapter 3 should kick more ass.

...or head. Not going to ruin it by saying more, though I will have a towel ready.

Page 19 is up.  I might add that the court scene took days to colour.  Bonus points for anyone who recognises the judge's opening line.

The first thing that leaps into mind is Pink Floyd, but it isn't that.

Anything else would be a guess.

It's from a game.  In fact, I've put together a few screenshots, though it seems a little premature to post them  :3

Ah. So the idea is, don't get caught?
I think the idea is really "don't do it in the first place", but that works too, yes.

I foresee pr0n. I don't know why.
Nor do I.  The closest you'll get to that here is scantily-clad androids, like Joshua in the first chapter.

I still find Josh's sentence hilarious. Cooking, lawl. :B And fruitifixion, because it reminds me of that one Monty Python sketch in which they were all learning to defend themselves from people armed with fresh fruit.

...the mental image of Kris trying to teach Josh and numerous other characters how to defend themselves with fresh fruit will be forever burned into my mind, and you all are expected to suffer with me. Real tears must be shed.

Ren Gaulen

The concept of fructifixion is hilarious. And scary as hell. :3

Real tears must be shed.

I have shed several manly tears.

I didn't know that cooking without due care and attention was a crime.

I would have shed tears.

But then I remembered I HAVE NONE.

That's why I chose it.  There are a few subtle visual clues in this and the coming strip.  It'll all make sense in strip 21, though I haven't had the lineart for that one yet.
(And in any case, colouring on a crappy 7" screen is really the way I want to spend Anthrocon...)

I SLICE ONIONS FOR NO ONE!

But I can if you ask me very nicely.

I think that's the first time I've seen an artist's depiction of Jakob's clan leader.

Actually, Keaton did one a while ago, from a later period.  Until Ren, this was the only artwork of Daryil:

Page 20 is up, more-or-less on it's normal UK schedule.  Call me obsessive if you will...Page 21 might be late depending on how complex it is.  Needless to say I won't be doing any colouring at AC.

Good idea, enjoy AC. Hopefully you won't be as scared as last year.  :U

It took me a moment to catch the pun.  The answer to all your problems... and the 42 on the gun.  Nicely done.  I'm gonna have to use that one.

Thanks to Taski & Silverfoxr for the artwork!

llearch n'n'daCorna

Heh. It's an old gag.

"They'll listen to Reason."

... turns out Reason is what he calls his minigun...

If there were any references, gags, or puns in this strip, I didn't recognize a single one.

The humor has been lost on me. But it was still a nice strip :)

There was a reference here? I thought everything was just random hilarity. :B

"I didn't order any nuns" is probably my favorite line in the comic thus far. :3

Naughty Keaton... I was hoping to reveal that in the next page, but whatever.  I actually threw the '42' in as an afterthought, which gives Daryil's line something of a dual meaning.  The other is that death will solve all their problems...

His shades reminded me of Andrew Eldrich.
OK, that made me laugh.  Maybe Ren is a fan of the Sisters of Mercy, I wouldn't know...

Oh, they were optional, to see if anyone picked up on them.  The randomness is supposed to be the main driving point of these strips.

There is a lot I could say about the past two comics.

What I will say to keep it short:
Daryil is hot.

I know, he is an incubus so it should go without saying, but he is also a clan leader. I've always pictured him as being... older stature. And to thing, in a future chapter we will see him in boxers.

Heh, that did make me chuckle.  Originally, he was supposed to be top-naked in this scene, which seems to be the norm for 'cubi, but Ren loves designing clothes and the result amused me greatly. AFAIK no-one has yet remarked on the resemblance (Keaton knows).  I'll probably drop a reference to it next time Josh meets Kris.
