Turducken has always sounded like a southern invention to me.

Something like it was originally developed by the romans: stuffed sucessive animals into one another, some of the biggest were pigs and i believe the end result animal was an overstuffed cow that was barbecued for over a day.

Those crazy romans did everything first.
