Pirates: Legend of the Black Buccaner

I just recently came across this game in the bargin bin and figured I'd give it a shot.

It's a pirate themed platformer.  It's similer to prince of persia 3d and uch titles.

The story casts you in the part of a pirate named Francis Blade, the only survivor of a ship that was sunk by a terrible storm.  You are searching for the cursed treasure of the pirate La Borgne.  She was a former slave turned vicous voodoo pirate.  Shortly after you start you find an ancient amulet that grants you the power to transform into the powerful Black Buccaneer (a massively muscled voodoo themed pirate wielding a huge stone sword).   

Francis starts off with a cutlass and pistol, but as the game progresses you can learn new skills, summoning zombies, building hand made bombs, casting curses or even possessing your enemies.

The main story has you searching for the treasure as well as for the pieces needed to repair a beached ship found on the island.  There are how ever side missions you can do,  There are 3 voodoo alters that you can unlock to beg favors of the Loa (you can use these to upgrage your cutlass or pistol damage, or increase your zombie effeciancy, max hit points and so on)  or you can help Vanilla (the daughter of a Spanish pirate hunter looking for the tomb of her father), you can also search for scrools hidden around the island that unlock new fighting combo's,  and finaly you can explore the Ginen world (a hell like plain of fire and lava .  Here you can face challenges to earn new abilities)


The Island is rather small but has a nice variaty of places you can explore,  from an old abandoned mine to a spanish fort.  with 18 maps and freedom to travel where you will you can move at your own pace.

There isn't too much variaty amoung the enimies though only twelve differnt models (and 3 of those are bosses)  The foes yoiu'll face come in 3's  each set has a melee  unit, a strong fighter (who also has a ranged attack), and sharpshooter (phsicaly weak but lots of firepower).

Pirates
Hatchett men(they care basic pirates with a hatchet and a dagger) Corsairs ( bald and shirtless  with a Cutless in one hand and pistol in the other) and then there is the gunner (wearing a tricorner hat with a pair of pistols)

Voodoo soldiers
(these ones can actualy heal themselves)
Skulls (Strawbodies topped withed a fanged skull carrying a sword) Scarecrows (strawbody with a burlap sacking head, a sword and pistol) and shamen (strawbody with a tribal mask they fire pulses of voodoo magic)
