Man, if I was Dan and I ran into DP AGAIN, I would probably stab him in the face at least seventeen times to make sure he stayed dead..Or implant him with a wee bomb in a fingertip that is triggered by a sudden shock..like the pulse of blood filling his veins again. It doesn't really seem to be his style, to leave a note. But then, who knows how he behaves while not being a super villain?

Remember that it wasn't Dark Pegasus who left the note.  It might have been one of his minions or somebody else with nefarious plans.  The note also said that a body would be returned, but not necessarily the body of Dark Pegasus.

If this turns into 'Dark Pegasus vs Merlitz' I shall not be a happy bunny 

If you take a look at the archive page, you will see that the brief appearance of Merlitz occurs before this arc starts.

It also doesn't say who is going to have the flashback.  It could be Dan or Dark Pegasus or even Kria (perhaps Dark Pegasus was an old flame of hers).  My assumption is that something in the description will prove to be literally true rather than a figure of speech.  (Perhaps little tiny DP minions tying Dan down like Gulliver in Lilliput.)

Obviously the dirt had a high grade clay content that can be used to form Homoculi or Gohlems...

which may or may not grant DP a new shapeshifting ability. If that WERE the case, there of course would be mass and density limitations related to the composition of sand.

A Clockwork Orange was a violent book by Anthony Burgess, which was made into a cult film in 1971 by Stanley Kubrick and featuring a remarkable electronic score by synthesizer pioneer Walter Carlos (later Wendy).  Rated X in the UK, it was eventually banned/withdrawn after a number of alleged copycat attacks whereby tramps were beaten up by gangs of youths singing 'Singing In The Rain' and only rereleased (18-rated) after Kubrick died.

The iconic symbol of the film is of a leering Malcolm McDowell wearing a single false eyelash.
The second frame of the strip bears an uncanny resemblance to this.

Mab is not going to be behind every conspiracy in existence.  She may know about it, but I would be very surprised if she is behind it.
