*Stop, no, rant and ramble=bad*
*Wait, lets try this again*

Flowers are for losers, send a lightsaber.

*There we go, that works without starting me to ramble*

Fresnor

Hehe, I celebrate this day, just not for Valentines day.  *Goes to gorge on large quantities of cake and ice cream.*

Jim Halisstrad

Hey, with Valentines day comes Valentine themed porn.  So even though I'm usually single on this day, I have to say it has it's upsides :3

I found the comic amusing and refreshing with it's lack of sadistic lizard.

Valynth

Yeah, the comic made me laugh, but the angst isn't your fault Amber, it's just the day thats evil beyond all reconing.

Also, I agree with superluser, but I add the specification that we make an all singles day, a celebration of being single.  I would add the activities involved in the celebration, but for sake of the rating I dare not.
The fate of the world always rests in the hands of an idiot.  You should start treating me better.

Something to do with Jim's reply, I'm sure. ;)

Wow, angst abounds in this board. Am I the only one who's happy that Valentine's day has rolled around? Anyone? Come on, this holiday has caaaandy...

I didn't even notice.  Somehow House-Inspection-by-the-Landlord day seemed more important...   >:3

(My sole disappointment with this strip is that I thought from the title it was going to be about Aliyka...)

Does he know that St. Valentine was clubbed to death for what he was doing?  I don't think he'll mind a punch in the kidneys.

Well a couple of years ago we had a bombing on valentines day...

Tonight I was set up by my grandma with the daughter of one of her friends, Not quite what I had in mind when I thought I wanted to go out on a date on Valentines. When I asked how she looked, all my grandmother said was "She's a nice girl."

ShiningShadow

I like this change of pace. In the past when I was single I send valentines day card all the time now since I'm married I get my wife a card and a sims expansion pack for her pc cool isn't it. Anyway Like this day and any other day I look at it with the sense of positivness what my day will be and Amber thanks for this extra treat for us you are so cool as artist and web cartoonist *Yeah*  :).

Heehee! "Why don't you go out with her, then?"

... Isn't it always the way, thought, that "she's got a nice personality" means she hasn't got anything else going for her.... :-/

Let us know how it works out, though, KoH.

Dard

I don't know if anybody else noticed, but the flower seller looks very much like Omaha from Reed Waller's and Kate Worley's "Omaha - The Cat Dancer".

Wanderer

The comic is still lacking in Boko. :P

...Oh, is it Valentines Day? *blinks* I suppose I'm supposed to join the crowds feeling lonely and miserable.

But what if I don't want to? *shrugs* I can be lonely and miserable any time. I see no reason to do it now just to conform to some standard.

You know your right on this because I own all the issues of Omaha- The cat Dancer including the signed issued from Reed Waller's himself.

I don't, which is why I am eagerly awaiting the reprints.
And of course that the series will be eventually finished. I hope it still all works out even after the writer's death.  :cry
Most - beautiful - furry - comic - ever!

Aye. The comic made me laugh when a day that I normally greatly dislike is drawing near. That's something to be happy about, not sad. Everybody hug Amber!

Yes, I agree. Everybody mug Amber! (What? You said hug?) Seriously, don't worry about the comic, Amber. It's funny. It's the  :brokenheart day, not the strip.

I find it a perfect example of human insanity. It warms my heart that I have only seen friends exposed to this sort of treatment... Schadenfreude indeed. Not that I am much for that normally...

In either case, it was very well done, and much to a point, Am. Though I think I see a bit of a tendency of yours... >:3 *Chuckles and goes back to his corner*

Hey, Repteal is always tons of fun, in my honest opinion. Tons of sadistic fun. >:3 Then again, she WAS in the last Valentine's special.

She coulda beeen leaning up against the glass windows of the store either smiling that Mikelo is buying flowers (thinking it's for her), or being super pissed that he ISN'T buying em for her. :3

ShiningShadow

That is why poor Mikelo will buy flowers for cheets she is clingly with a bi-polar look about her.

Aisha deCabre

*Loud snicker*  I love Cheets' face in the third panel.  Snap!  x3  Poor Mikelo always seems to have bad luck with this holiday.

I'll take this opportunity to send a bit of happy V-day wishes to everyone too.  :mowcookie

The holiday actually mostly reminds me of the days in elementary school when everyone made little mailbox things out of paper bags and decorations in order to get candy and stuff passed out to you.  Ah, memories.   :3

Ah yes, the mandatory passing out of valentines to people you couldn't care less about. How boring that was. I always.. "had extras" that I would keep, cause they had cartoon characters on em. <.<  >.>

Eibborn

A happy Valentines day to you all! Although it looks like it's too late for most of you. Cheer up!   :mowhappy

Although today is technically just the same as any other day to my girlfriend and I. We celebrate on the eighteenth, so we can get (each other) more chocolate and love.  :cvheart

Angel

Heeheeheehee. Cheets' expression in the third panel is priceless. And hey! A Valentine's strip that doesn't involve Repteal? Mikelo should be relieved!

No, that's the historical origin.  St. Valentine was marrying off people the church had ruled should not be married for prejudice reasons, and so he was executed for what he did.  And so, through this act of martyrdom, Valentines Day was born.

Then a few millenia pass and commercialism screws it over so it's less about love and more about giving girls candy while boys get jack squat.

Well, Britannica says he died in the 3rd century; the Roman Catholic Church didn't get that kind of power until the 4th century.

Would you like a googolplex (gzipped 57 times)?

Manawolf

It wasn't the Roman Catholics that did him in, I think it was the Roman Empire that went after him.
