I have to admit that when I first saw the sketch on patreon I assumed this was going to be the comic that outright confirmed the clan-Quor-are-dragons theory, but now that we have the dialogue it isn't quite as definitive as I assumed.

"I'm struck with a bad case of feels like it wasn't worth the wait."

Being "worth the wait" is subjective of course. But that night skybox? The distorted moon reflection on the water? Quoar shifting between bog-standard blue/grey Dragon to Cubi-Dragon? Him un-melting his clothes to form around his Being form? No wonder this update took so barking long! Panels 7 & 8 alone should be sold in a frame.

The Centrist line has moved a long way to the Right over the years.

I'd argue that's a horribly shallow argument, except it's completely true. ~ooklah

So Quoar does take a dragon form. Interesting.

I knew that some 'Cubi could masquerade as dragons- I recall a certain princess posing as one to avoid being beheaded by her father- but aside from all the previous speculation, I'd never heard of a Tri-Wing getting in on the action.

Okay, about that.  First, keep in mind that story was written by me, not by Mab - and should under no circumstances be used to extrapolate what a regular 'Cubi can do - unless you can verify against DMFA.

Second, in that very same story, I had to do a lot of fudging.  My character wasn't able to pull off a dragon impersonation without external aid, and the other characters in that same story were astonished she was able to do it at all.

Third, I'm not sure it was quite known when that story was written, how deep the dragon-'Cubi antagonism ran at that point and she placed herself in grave danger from a real dragon had she been discovered.  I might not have written the story that way had I known at the time.

As for Quoar, he is a Tri-Wing.  His actual non-avatar form has enough mass for him to be able to shift into a dragon relatively easily.  And since Tri-Wings are largely made of magic he can probably do the anthro-to-feral shape changing much more easily than a mortal 'Cubi.  He might not even have real bones.

Point is, it'd be much, much easier for a Tri-Wing to turn into a dragon than for a regular 'Cubi like Aary (though she did turn herself into a dog early in the comic).

I think that it's less about Quoar or others being able to shapeshift into a dragon, it's the implication that other clan leaders would identify him specifically as 'the blue and grey dragon' (or rather, hear someone mention a blue and grey dragon and immediately know it's him.) When it was just Fa'lina talking about it it'd be pretty easy to assume that her conclusion was partly based on specific knowledge only she had access to, but now it's becoming clear that this is a known thing even for clan leaders that are out of the loop on a lot of stuff. It also sounds kinda like Fa'lina and Cyra have specifically met Quoar in dragon form before, which is the sort of thing that would make more sense if he actually was part dragon.

This page is beautiful and it was 100% worth the wait.

It also confirms a suspicion that many have had since the first mention of a "blue and gray dragon" that also adds to the mystery of WHY Dan will try to punch him.

>.>  Probably because Quoar has been hiding his father for years without telling him or taking him to visit.

It's also reassuring that Cyra has another ally among the Cubi, and one who is likely among the most powerful.

I suspect Quoar might be able to compete with Zezzuva's Heir in terms of clan size and strength... and that's before the possibility that Quoar is a dragon who is also a cubi AND a tri-wing.
Am I the only person who thinks that Mr. Roboto rusts out and eventually becomes the Ironman?

No not that Ironman, the other one!

Well, if Quoar is a Cubi-dragon, it probably makes the dragon elder Counsil meeting a bit awkward. With his age, wouldn't Quoar be up as being a possible member of that group?

Then again, considering how Quoar is with the other cubi clans. It wouldn't surprise me that there is always an empty seat where he would be sitting if he attended those as he would the events the cubi's hold which they would invite him to.

Given that Quaor quintuply-beheaded Hizell's wife during the war, I suspect that his being part Dragon would not be enough to make him "welcome" at a council of Dragon elders, awkwardly or otherwise.

I'm curious about Cyra having met him already. We do know that she went to several clans to protect her children, I wonder if Quoar was one of them. And if he accepted.

Is there a dragon elder council? I have never heard of such a thing. There could easily just be a decentralized set of 'factions' based on various patronage networks, so while you have 'hizil's faction' (and possibly various fellow travelers) doing Hizil Things, Quor could have his own client network that doesn't GAF about what the other want or are doing.

I'm of two minds: either he is a dragon, or he has a dragon alter ego he uses to infiltrate their circles. Either way, this isn't a throwaway form, but an important part of his identity.

And I think it's also another way he has a dual aspect, not just in the wings and eyes but now portraying himself as both sides in this great war that one side is trying to reignite.
