It's perhaps worth considering that Creatures with long lives have more time to get their act together, so yeah - excepting the cases like Dan where they think they've got a normal lifespan, many of them are likely to procrastinate.

For some reason that reminds me of a sci-fi story where the protagonist was seeking after immortality to be able to have time enough to do everything he'd hoped to do, until he came across an alien with the same mentality like him and learned the alien was older than human civilization and had done nothing with its life in all those countless centuries.  This woke him up from his obsession and he turned his back on the alien's offer to travel with it and left to go actually LIVE life.
