Well, this reaction at least seems to show that Jyrass is more concerned about Abel, and not just depressed and feeling sorry for himself.
Abel, after all, was seriously injured. His wings were ripped from him. His eyes are gone, and god knows what else. By his reaction before launching Jyrass and Wildy, he was almost certain he was going to die. 

As a Cubi, he has the ability to regenerate the damage done to him, but it's apparently not a very quick and easy process.

Jy may also be feeling guilty for not telling Abel that Biggs had already warned him about Hizell, and that he should have been ready to protect him.

The previous comic made it sound like just a week, give or take. And in 1757, the doctor pointed out that 'cubi aren't that good at regenerating whole limbs. Based on that comic, Abel should have eyes and should be out of the induced coma.

Someone needs to visit him, if the hospital will allow it.
