The punishment is poetic and how he doesn't get a full word out in the last panel is great on the suspense.

Thanks.  I particularly like Toho's armour design, which is one reason the hand in the first panel became gauntleted (the other was it looked odd with just the plate boots).

As mentioned in a couple of places, I originally wrote it so that he was hanged.  But after the recent DMFA arc, plus Skyrim plus a few other things, I decided that beheading might be a better idea, not least because there is a certain poetic justice to it in view of what the adventurer did.
Toho apparently forgot about that and drew the gallows anyway, and I ended up redrawing the scaffold anyway because it was a little squiffy.  At which point I went 'hmm... maybe I could replace the gallows with something else and have him beheaded after all.'
