Dear Invisible Friend:

Sorry for not asking anything, but I became distracted.

Ferngully, did you like it as a kid?

Do you have an accent?

BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT!
*Accordion note*

Do you have a face?

(Not for my IF though if they see it before answering I don't mind their answering.)

Can you tell what I'd been watching when I maid this post?

Darkdragon

Dear Invisible friend:

Do you think increasing Internet activity and SMS usage in modern teenagers improve or worsen their ability to write?

How do you think dealers of luxury goods (such as expensive brand-name products) should deal with the economic downturn?

Comment about the public education system in your country. Do you think it is effective in preparing its students for a post-globalization socio-economic backdrop?

Do you think your government should invest more or cut back in scientific programs (current economic climate notwithstanding)?

Why do you watch professional sports? If you do not, why do you not?

Jairus

And now to shamelessly rip-off DD's questions!

Dear Invisible Friend:

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
To be or not to be, that is the question.
O Invisible Friend, wherefore art thou invisible?
What light through yonder window breaks?
If you prick me, do I not bleed?
Shall we their fond pageant see?
When shall you be visible, In thunder, lightning or in rain?
Is whispering nothing?
Come sir, are you ready for death?
Do you bite your thumb at me?
Shall I lie in your lap?
Where be your gibes now?

Quote from: Jer-oh-me's Invisible FriendDear non-invisible friend that i can see,

I wouldn't worry about too much, as long as your back.

I did enjoy Ferngully as a kid. I think Batty is what made it memorable.

I beleive everyone has an accent, it depends on where your from, If in the United States, someone from London would be proclaimed to have a British accent, yet while in London, would they still have said accent? I beleive not, as they would be speaking 'normally' for that region, and therefore anyone visiting would be the people "speaking with an accent".

hooray hoorah?

I do in fact have a face... it happens to have 2 eyes, 1 nose, and a mouth.  that answer should be extremely informative, i think.

Dear visible friend,

have you been "borrowing" things from my house?

what's the coolest thing you've gotten recently?

have you ever profited from someone else's stupidity? if so, how so?

if you had your choice between demon, vampire or werewolf, which would you choose and why?

would your rather have a personal jet, a luxury yacht, or a massive mansion?

do you drive a car? if so, would you call it, low, mid, or high-end?

have you ever been in a car worth more than a house (at least 1500 square feet)?

lastly, do you trust me to do the right thing?   :3

Quote from: Basilisk2150's Invisible FriendDear Visible Friend,

Not recently.
A 1/60 scale model.
Not that I can recall. Gullibility yes, but not stupidity.
Demon. Vampires tend to be a bunch of rotting corpses, and werewolves have that whole berserker mind thing once a month.
Massive mansion.
Um, I'd call it mid-range.
That kinda depends.

Where's everyone else?

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
If you really have to.

To be or not to be, that is the question.
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them?

O Invisible Friend, wherefore art thou invisible?
Hanging off the ivy on your wall.

What light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.

If you prick me, do I not bleed?
You're human, so...

Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be!

When shall you be visible, In thunder, lightning or in rain?
When the hurly-burly's done, when the battle's lost and won.

Is whispering nothing?
Is leaning cheek to cheek?

Come sir, are you ready for death?
Over-roasted, rather; ready long ago.

Do you bite your thumb at me?
Is the law on my side if I say "aye?"

Shall I lie in your lap?
No, my "Lord."

Where be your gibes now?
This same skull, sir, was Yorick's skull, the king's jester.

Dear Invisible Friend,

Do you live in California?

Do you like cheese? If so, which kind is your favorite?

I like raspberry sherbet, do you?

What do you call people from the US?

What do you call people from Canada, the US, and Mexico together?

What is the circumference of the Earth at the Equator?

How far from the Sun is Earth going to be on January 1st 2010?

Can't say that i do.

I do enjoy cheese, I'm a fan of mozzarella myself.

It's good from time to time, though i prefer cookie-dough ice cream.

It all depends who we're talking about.

North Americans, were you expecting something different?

About 40,000 km, little bit more.

I don't really feel like doing the calculations, but the average distance between the earth and the sun is about 500 light-seconds.

Quote from: Darkdragon's Invisible FriendDear Visible friend:

Depends on the teenager.

Don't care, I work for a small business, that is the least expensive provider of our market product in the area.

I hated the compulsory parts of school, and I don't like that I'm forced to take college courses that are irrelevant to my major. I really don't care.

I don't have any data concerning the track record of Government funded science in my country, I do know that I think the government shouldn't though, and that it should be free market, if the scientist can't get funding because he can't convince like minded people with capital that his idea is worth research, then why should the taxpayer support him?

I enjoy watching football, it is something that I have in common with my Dad.

Gabi: Why would you feel sorry for my IF?

Dear Invisible Friend:

What is your surname?
What real animal do you think best represents your personality?
Do you yearn for your childhood days? Why or why not?
Have you started your image yet? If not, have you thought about what to draw?
Do you think you know who your IF is?

Jer-oh-me

Dear Invisible Friend,

The Americans question was inspired by an annoyance with Mao, who is Canadian, taking someone saying America, as to mean all of North America. And it quickly degenerated into a rather bittersweet argument, primarily because I kept saying that insisting that only confuses the meaning of the word, and if US Citizens aren't Americans, then I'm no longer referring to Citizens of the Nation of Canada as Canadians, just cause it'd be unfair. And I have managed to ramble on for a while without asking a question, so I'll put it this way, if not Americans, what do you think US citizens should be called? Or do you just think the Citizen of the Nation of Canada is just being annoying?

Do you think I am being annoying with my substitution demonym?

The question about the distance from the Sun on New Year's next year was caused by my wondering how to establish calendars on other planets, and where to put the marker for the new year. I personally think that the New Year should be the point in the planet's orbit that is furthest from its star, and that the local prime meridian should be the dateline, and here I've gone and blathered on nerdily again. Care too comment on this habit?

Does the idea of falling from a great height, say from skydiving sort of altitudes, without means of working against the force of Gravity, scare you? It terrifies me, and I have dreams about it, oddly, I like them.

Darkdragon

Jer-oh-me: A lot of countries get around the "American" demonym by having a construct similar to "United Statian". In many languages, "America" does mean "North and South America" (Which I think the English equivalent is "the Americas") so by extension their equivalent of "American" would be someone from the Americas.

Its not just the Canadians that worry about this - a few Mexicans and Brazilians I happen to know resent calling Americans "Americans" because they say they are entitled to be known as "people from the Americas" (in their language, I think the same thing as "Americans", but I can't be too sure.)

Invisible friend: One extra question: What do you think of my sometimes annoying tendency to try and dispel misconceptions and disputes?

VSMIT

Now I, too, shall rip off Darkdragon's questions.

Dear Invisible Friend,
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

I think the Canadian is being annoying, perhaps you should beat some sense into him.

possibly, but i guess it could be worse.

eh, not particularly.  I can understand where your coming from, but quite honestly, when it comes to such mundane things like deciding arbitrary information that is entirely made up for the sake of convince, i prefer to let sleeping dogs lie.

I think i'd find it terrifying up until the sudden impact at the bottom.  I'm not afraid of heights, if thats what your getting at, but being force fed the proof or mortality in a way you described is something that i do find disconcerting to say the least.

And I'd say the citizens of the US are indeed American. Nevertheless, so are the rest of us who live in different countries within America.

Quote from: VSMIT's Invisible Friend> Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art most warm and compassionate,
As oft as the sun rising everyday;
You're lights in darkness which illuminate.

> To be or not to be, that is the question(;)
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
And continue this entropic, hectic life,
Or to combat against the torrent of woe?

> O Invisible Friend, wherefore art thou invisible?
'Tis but my identity is a mystery;
Be forewarned: I am not what I am.
For my incognito state will be dispelled.

> What light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and thou art the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief.

> If you prick me, do I not bleed?
If you tickle me, do I not laugh?
If you poison me, do I not die?
If you wrong me, do I not revenge?

> Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be!
See how their sanity flee,
While they mark this jubilee.

> When shall you be visible, In thunder, lightning or in rain?
When the hurly-burly's done,
When the battle's lost and won.
That will be the ere the set of sun.

> Is whispering nothing?
Are thou but rumours and nothing more?
What is small talk, in thy quest?
Where doth this befoul gossip lie?

> Come sir, are you ready for Death?
Over-roasted rather; ready long ago.
Nowadays getting an audience with him,
Is akin to bureaucratic torture.

> Do you bite your thumb at me?
No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I
Bite my thumb, sir.
(At those pedagogic's projects assigned, sir.)

> Shall I lie in your lap?
No, my llord.
Even on the off chance you meant "upon my lap"
My answer remains the same.

> Where be your gibes now?
My muse hath stolen them from me;
I work ardently to retrieve them, unlike
Poor Yorick, whom hath passed away.
