At the sight of Exo laying out the plan, then climbing into a van straightaway, Jexx got much more active. "Finally! That's what I'm talkin' about! Let's get going!" Jexx rushed to the van that Exo had commandeered, getting in through the back and sitting with the equipment.

Morgan took to one of the vans designated for his particular part of this operation.  He assumed that he would be driving, and as such slid into the driver's seat and logged himself into to the vehicle's VCI.
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"

With everyone settled in, and preparations made, the vans finally took off from the rebellion base towards their target.  The drive was a long one.  A day's worth of driving brought them to a large field.  The east side of the field was flanked by a group of trees.  Some ways away was the riverbed that was shown on the map, and in the distance, they would see the construction site, as active as ever.

Leaving his van, Dorcan made his way to Exo.  If it was like the last time, the robot wouldn't need help setting up the camp, so he just hung around and waited for Morgan.

Morgan had parked the van and disembarked.  The personnel in his vehicle expertly exited and were distributing their gear.  Morgan had his duffel and sundries tossed to him by the fellow coordinating the people from his van.  He nodded to the lad, "carry on."

Shouldering his gear, Morgan headed to Exo.  He found Dorcan already there, "I'll have to explain a few things as soon as the team is assembled."

"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"

After setup his own little tent, Jathon also goes to Exo and  finds Dorcan and Morgan.

"Evening, Gents... Great place for a Jamboree... Hey.  So where to next?" commends the ferret

After the ride, Jexx opened the van doors and stumbled out of the vehicle. He wandered around for a little as other were disembarking, then caught sight of the construction area.
Almost like a zombie, Jexx walked a ways in the direction of the construction, his metal arms hanging down, passing the assembling command group, and finally stopping. He stared at the construction with a definite hunger in his strange eyes, and a slight grin on his mouth. After a moment, a familiar red glow started radiating from the barrels of his handcannons, illuminating the ground at his feet.

Dorcan stared at Jexx nervously as he stood there glowing.  "The Brothers aren't going to be able to detect that from here, are they?"

The ferret follows Dorcan's gaze to Jexx.  Looking at the cyborg's stands and "ready to pounce" body language, Jathon goes in front of Jexx, and asks "Jexx, you know they are not going anywhere.. Your team will need you, when they go in.  It will not be much longer. Remember what Sally said to you back at HQ, "You have a choice what you want.  Do you want to be a gun all your life or person?"

Jathon stands away from Jexx and moves to the side of Jexx,  and watches the camp setup.  Looking at him with a corner of his eye, he is ready to tackle Jexx should he move to leave the camp or shoot the tower from here."

Exo is busy checking that his weapon is fully loaded before he notices the glow and casually walks over, sweeping one heavy hand around to try to give Jexx a firm slap upside the head. "If you do anything to jeopardize the mission, I will be sending you, or what is left of you if you think a fight is a good idea, back to base."

"Do I make myself clear?"

techmaster-glitch

Jexx scoffed when Dorcan asked a somewhat paranoid question, and his handcannons slowly went out. Jathon stepped up and reminded Jexx oh what Sally had told him before. Jexx just shook his head in an almost bemused way. "Aw come on, I wasn't really going toWHOA!"
Jexx tried to duck when he saw a big metal hand come swinging at him from the corner of his eye, but it managed to clip him anyway, throwing him off-balance enough to send him sprawling to the ground. He turned over to look up at Exo, a rather angry expression on his face.
"What was that for, you big dumb robot?" Jexx spat in irritation. "Give me a little credit here, I'm not stupid. As I was saying, I wasn't going to try shooting the damn tower at this range. My plasma shots would burn out waaay before they even got there, not to mention that I wouldn't even be able to see whatever sod of a cultist I fried even if they did."
Jexx got to his feet, brushing himself off. "Just excited and anticipating our coming skirmish, is all." he said to the group, in a bit of a hurt way. He then turned and walked towards the small tree forest. "If you need me, I'll be up high." He reached a tree, then agilely scaled it, disappearing into the thicket of branches quickly.

Morgan did not comment on Jexx or Exo, he did not think the Brotherhood's sensors could see them this far out in the Tower's current state of construction.  Still, discretion was warranted.  When Jexx moved off, he was somewhat relieved.

"now would be a good time to explain the basics of special operations work."  Morgan details many operational areas, including intelligence gathering, signalling, movement, and threat neutralization.

"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"

What Jexx sees when he climbs the tree:
When Jexx goes up into the tree, he would catch sight of a heavy armored Brotherhood transport being flanked by two lighter Brotherhood attack vehicles, all heading towards the construction site.  They stop at the site and the heavy vehicle's back door opens and out steps a man in Brotherhood robes, different from what the soldiers wear.  He has no helmet, but his head is covered with a hood.  The personnel at the site appear to be giving this man a tour of the site for a short while.  After a half-hour or so, the man re-enters the heavy transport, and the group of vehicles leaves the site, heading away from the player's current location.
(From Jexx's vantage, he wouldn't be able to get better details on the man, but he looks important.)

Jathon had jump when Exo hit Jexx.  He shakes his head at Jexx when climbs the tree.  W\

"Well, does that mean we all go to bed at ...at ...ah 8 PM?" asks Jathon as he looks at his watch

Arcalane

Exo chuckles at Jathon. "You're not very familiar with the definition of a night operation are you?"

It then turns to Morgan. "I'm sure you're glad he's on the offensive distraction team, eh?" The bot would be grinning, if it could. "We don't have much time to waste at this rate. Best to make our move soon."

Dorcan found he had little to add.  Morgan was his immediate commander, so the next move would have to be his.

"Goddess, Tin man, Can you take a joke?  A seasoned soldiers will sleep when they can and are always ready at moment notice?"  Says Jathon.  "what is the plan, If I may ask?"

Morgan nodded wryly to Exo, "aye, he will be distracting someone at least.  But that aside, you are right, we will need to get started on the operation soon."

He motioned over all the people who would be on his operational team, "alright lads, you all have been briefed on the operation.  We will be moving under the cover of night, during a distractionary action.  We want to keep engagement of hostiles to a minimum, get in, and extract the data.  If possible we will be setting charges to blow the tower, but this is a secondary objective, primary is the data extraction.  Oh Dorcan, and everyone else who may not be familiar, I have special forces... experience... we will be using standard operational handsigns, keep chatter to a minimum."

He demonstrated for Dorcan's benefit and anyone else who might not have been in the same branch of service or a different nation's special forces.

Morgan turned and nodded to Exo, "this is where we split up, we will hide our vans near the dry river bed, deploy and head up it as planned, moving through the construction materials.  Do you have anything further, Exo or do I have authorization to proceed as planned?"
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"

Arcalane

The mech shakes it's head. "Nothing at this time. I'd wish you luck, but I don't think that sort of think matters to your kind." It hefts the bulky SMG-sized 'pistol' and checks the ammunition cartridge. "Try not to have too much fun without us. We'll keep them busy outside as long as we can. With any luck we'll be able to join you, though that depends what the security detail is like."

Exo then sets about gathering up the members of it's own party before setting off to prepare for, and begin, the fake scouting party and distraction assault.

When Jexx was just settling down on a comfortable branch, his eyes caught sight of the convoy headed for the tower. He watched them for awhile, and when the convoy packed up, he heard Exo calling for him. "I'm comin', I'm comin'." Jexx deftly decended down from branch to branch, dropping near Exo.
Jexx was still sore at him, and kept his distance. He didn't tell Exo about what he'd seen. It probably wasn't important anyway.

As night fell, the workers in the tower began to head away from the site, towards a small collection of tents not too far away from the site.  A few of the zealots went with them, leaving only a handful of guards at the site, and a couple at the staging area.

Dorcan was on watch, which he did from a tree like Jexx before him, studying the Brotherhood camp through a pair of binoculars.  Hometime, he thought and skimmed down the tree to find Exo.

"Looks like the Brothers are packing up for the night, Sir." he reported.  "Construction seems to have halted and they only have a skeleton guard from what I can tell."

Jathon has been making a set of darts with the different strength.  Each dart  with increasing strength set in a row on his belt.  Jathon will use only one dart per target, and makes notes on the amount of morphine to each numbered dart.  Amounts ranging from enough for a 100kg man to 2 ton elephant.

He has just finished up, as he hear Dorcan states the Tower closing down for the night.  He goes to Exo.

Morgan also had observed the movement of Brotherhood troops through his optics from the tree he had climbed to better meditate on the upcoming challenge.  Soundlessly he dropped from the branch, landing in semi-dramatic action pose-crouch.

Quickly he met up with the others, "Alright mates, time for us to get going.  Let's grab our gear and load up the vans.  As per the plan, we will be stashing the vehicles near the dried up river.  We will then move towards the tower via the riverbed, using the construction materials for cover."

Morgan checked his watch and gestured towards the vans, "let's get this party started."
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"

Tapewolf

"Yes, sir," Dorcan said, and did as he was ordered.  It seemed that the mission was well and truly under way now.  Finally, he thought.

Arcalane

"Actually, we're moving the rest of the way on foot. If we take the van too close it'll alert the guards. The air is cold... sound'll travel far, even with quiet engines. Audio enhancers are fairly common, and we want this to look like a genuine failed recon, at least at first. Plus we don't have as far to go, compared to the distance to the riverbed." The bot is hard to see in the darkness thanks to his matte grey armour plating, though his visual receptors seem to cast a faint greenish glow, and moves surprisingly quietly.

"We need a couple of people to play the bait and get a little too close while doing a recon of the site. Pvt. Mitchell here has some recon skills. Jathon, stay with him, stay down and stay quiet." The bot pauses for a moment to let the directives sink in. "Jexx, shadow them a bit, try to keep hidden with a good line of sight. You're to cover for them when they're spotted. Give them time to fall back to us, and us time to group up with them. From there we'll aim to get between the tower and their quarters, ideally disposing with the tower guards first."

Exo pats the bulky 'sidearm'. "Fortunately for our role in the mission, this thing is not subtle which, on occasion, does have it's uses. It's technically a heavy weapon, and it'll certainly get their attention once I start taking a few potshots. I've heard they're compared to fireworks celebrations in terms of noise. Remember to grab any of their weapons you can. With any luck most of them won't have ID locks, so we should be able to use them freely."

As the group nears the edge of the clearing to the construction site (and, no doubt, the infiltration group having reached the river bed), the bot raises a hand - the old and easily recognized 'stop' sign. "Mitchell, Jathon, Jexx. Off you go. Good luck. Let them fire the first shot and do not open fire or waste time shooting back - that's Jexx's job. Regroup with us and we'll give them something to think about. We'll move in as soon as we hear them firing." Exo then switches to comms. [All ready here. Any fireworks on our end mean we've got their attention. Try not to have too much fun without us okay?]

Azlan

Morgan's crew deployed after hiding their vans.  With a quiet voice and descriptive gestures, Morgan waves everyone over.

"Alright let's move, Dorcan and I are on point, the rest follow two by two.  Let's stagger ourselves just a bit so we can cover each pair.  You last two are in charge of making sure nothing comes up behind us to cut our escape route off.  Remember, silencers and quiet weapons... garrotes, knives and crossbows, don't give the enemy time to yell or even gurgle in his own blood.  If you have to kill an enemy, make it fast and quiet.  Hopefully there won't be much of any opposition."

Morgan looked to Dorcan and gave him and the rest the be quiet gesture as well as the one for keeping your eyes open and be alert.  Gesturing to the doberman to keep up, Morgan made his way into the dry riverbed and headed for the tower, keeping to cover and moving as silently as he was able (which is theoretically a lot).

Morgan thought into his internal comm, Exo, we are on the move.  ETA ten minutes till we are in position, will advise if schedule is broken.  Try not to get yourself killed.
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"

Tapewolf

Dorcan padded along, dividing his attention between Morgan in front and the next group behind.  "All clear," he gestured, moving briefly into the light so they could see his signal.

Morgan paused at the indicated point and quietly motioned for the team to spread out and take their positions as previously discussed.

Exo, we are in position.  Standing by, as we seem to be a slight bit early.  Over.  Morgan thought into his comm.
"Ha ha! The fun has been doubled!"
