Heh...it's people like that who gave reports on the Wii controllers slipping out of their hands and smashing into the TV.  :rolleyes

Although I suspect that this generation of gamers will be quite fit people...using a bit more exercise than just trying to break your thumb.   :3

Psycho people jumping and flailing wildly while having an orgasm must be the top reason for people to break a sweat on these things.

Wow shes looseing 30 pounds!

Warning: Excessive play motions may cause you to looke like an idiot on a video broadcast over the internet.

Yeah, that slipping wii thing is getting to be quite a problem.

Apaprently more hardcore gamers aren't having any trouble hanging onito thier wiis, though.  Apparently you don't actually have to move the controller that much to get games to work, and the confirmed couch potatoes don't move any more than they have to.

Anyone who doesn't know how to hold onto something that they're swinging, be it game controller, weapon, or otherwise, shouldn't be holding that object.

Aridas

It would help if the strap wasn't so tiny and thin either. The only thing making the strap break is the fact it's so small. they could probably make it more like a shoelace to give it a bit of strength.

I've swung it about strong enough than anyone -should-, while not holding onto the controller. However, as you -should- be holding the controller, thus making the strap have very little pull on it at all, my argument still stands.

Besides, all those controller gloves are made of rubber and make it veeeeeeeery difficult for it to slip out of your hand.

There's a difference between swinging it around on the end of the line, and having it slip your grip in the middle of a swing.  The sudden jerk when the wii slips from the gamers is what causes the strap to break.  And I agree with Adrias here; the use of a sturdier line to make sure that a sudden slip doesn't cause the Wii to jerk off would have been a really good idea.

I agree. The topic name made it sound as if some girl was using the Wii for a vibrator.

The strap is thicker than my shoelaces. Really, for the wii remote to slip and the strap to break, you need to use pretty forceful movements. The wii remote only slipped out of my hands once. Strap saved it from breaking my TV. Now I don't use the strap anymore because I don't use excessive force anymore.

If it rumble, someone will use it as such. After a while on the internet, you will learn that humen perversion known no bounds. Rule 34 works on EVERYTHING.

The part that goes around your wrist, yes.

That is not the part that is breaking; what's breaking is the thin cord that connects the main strap to the caseing of the controller

Case in point:

You can see, with those batteries in the background to compare size with, that the string is little thicker than canvas thread.

Like I said... if it wasn't so thin it'd work.

ninjannihilator

Maybe if it was made out of metallic string it would be sturdier.

Y'know, that could actually work.  If it wasn't for the cuff aspect.   :mowtongue

Well, it seems that Nintendo is going to replace the wrist straps sold on every Wii-mote (about 3.7 million I think). So it's good that they recognized the problem officially at least. The wrist strap is pretty secure, but it's the small chord that they use to keep it connected to the controller which seems flimsy from the start.

As for that handcuff for keeping the Wii-mote attached, I bet there are going to be some interesting accessories coming out just for that use. It's only a matter of time.

Aridas

Well, the new straps that have been replaced in the recall seem twice as thick. The problem should be over with.
