Didn't anyone let you in on the secret? Mab is a were-fae. During the full moon she turns from a fae into a fae. It's a very subtle curse and you have to watch very carefully to catch it.

Actually, this could explain why Pede's attempt to clone Mab failed.. (The Mow is essentially the human and primal forms combined, resulting in a completely invincible being)
