PS does anyone know anything about wiring up batteries?  I was simply planing on slapping as many as I could into my pack one on top of the other but I wasn't sure how safe that would be since they would all be in that same connector

I've also finally finished my utility belt.  I bought a camel back 2 liter replacement bladder and built a pack for it so my belt will have two storage pouches a holster ad 2 liters of water.  I'm hopping to get pics soon

As far as wiring batteries goes, there's two ways you can do it. Assuming + at the top and - at the bottom:

Parallel:

---------- +

B is the battery. The rest is wires.

Series:

   --- --- -- +
   | | | | |
   B b B b B
   | | | | |
- -- --- ---

b is an upside down battery.


Assuming you're using 1V, 1A batteries (for ease of counting), the parallel case will result in 1V, 5A output. The series case will result in 5V, 1A output.

For fans, the higher voltage will result in faster spin. And, based on how it works out, the slower spin will probably result in the batteries lasting longer. How much, however, is a bit vague...

yep well the pack is wired up in parallel.  but I didn't know if that was safe or noe.

the batteries I got are 6 volt rechargable rc car battery packs

If those are the ones I'm thinking of, each are 6 cells, and some 7200 mAh.

Which means you've got some 57.6Ah of power there. Shorting that sucker will hurt.

Note also that if it shorts out, the batteries will heat up rapidly. Quite a bit. You'll want to be careful with that, and have an EPO somewhere accessible.

well it's a small update realy.  just me modeling my gun belt

It's got two pouches round the holster (yes one is a fanny pack)  and on the other side I made a covering for a 2 liter drinking bladder

It's a pretty even spread realy not to much give or take still gor a pretty decent range of movement out of it
