If katarina's chaotic magic was sometimes as powerful as a "nuke" (15 megatons?) then I'd imagine quite a large area of Romania would be ashe.
As a side note golem forgot to mention that the place the nuke explodes is controlled, and there are more than 20 thousand of these.

I think it was mentioned that they did this in Castlevania:Aria of Sorrow, Dracula final encarnation, in 1999, The army nuked the castle, but since it is a creature of chaos, it suffered almost no damage and it was able to regenerate.

Besides that, I thin some one have already casted a "Nuke" spell somewhere, I think it was Shaft, Sindra or maybe the Devil I'm not sure. But I know someone already nuked some one with magic.

Well they did that, after the nuke fail, or at least I think they did.

Hammer is the one who tell you this If I'm not mistaken or maybe it was in the Zombie Soldier description.

I'm not sure I think I'm confusing and mixing Speculation with actual facts. But if the army was involve it makes sense that they used nuclear weapons.
