Well I was just dubing around and I stumbled across an interesting set of comics

I came across a 3 issue re imagining of Batman by the Hellboy creators.

It's called The Doom That Came to Gotham.

It's a really interesting take on the batman myth set in a lovecraftian 1920's Gothem

It includes many familer bat foes and allies scene through a lovecraftan lens

The Penguin, Twoface, Freeze, Poison Ivy, Ra's Al Ghul, all three robins, and Green Arrow and even Etriggan

It's really rather cool.

So tell me folks has anyone out there stumbled across some cool but odd  comics?

Kafzeil

Might need to pick this up.

The Sandman. Trippy offbeat, but cool as hell.

I'd also recommend Grant Morison's takes on Animal man and Doom Patrol.
Real men wear Hats.<br /><br />Raz: Lili! An evil madman is building a fleet of psycho-death tanks to take over the world, and we\'re the only ones who can stop him! <br />Lili Zanotto: OH MY GOD! Let\'s make out! -Psychonauts

I thought amalgam comic's Swampthing/ Manbat crossover was the best batman comic ever printed for a short while.

The KISS kompendium OMG!!! 30ish years of comic books in one tome. Psycho Circus was awesome... most of them anyway. Still have to read the dark horse years, but you get 1200 full color pages of awesome for only $45. the book weighs 15 pounds and did I mention its in full color!!!  one of the dialog boxes on page 256 or 357 was cut off at the top, but not badly enough that you couldn't figure it out. Some of the art is so freaking awesome you have to read it more than once.

Speaking of awesome Kompendiums, there is also the Bat-manga!, which recreates/recovers the Japanese version of Batman as he battles villains such as the Weather Wizard, Clayface, and believe it or not a character that reminds me of  Blight from Batman Beyond. and we are talking a nice quality gloss interior with canvas filters that make the artwork look really attractive.

Dreamkeepers is an awesome independent comic, and it's available in both print and on the web
http://www.dreamkeeperscomic.com/Prelude.php
the primary story is about a poor little orphan boy, who's blamed for the murder of his little sister type character, on the lamb, Mace must prove himself Innocent, the secondary story involves the daughters of the local aristocrat who uncovers a plot by their fathers fiance to kill Whisp, who ironically enough is an evil psychopath character that is  not unlike Harley Quin of batman.  There's magic and mayhem and if you like DMFA you'll get a kick out of  Dreamkeepers.

Remember that TV Series Brimstone? Togari has the same basic plot. And, If you've seen the 2005 series surface, then you have a basic idea of a dramatic story with an open ending.

I want this thread to stay alive and me and TGH cannot be the only comic fans on the forum. Interesting Webcomics, Graphic Novels, Manga, Manhwa, Manhua, and some Zines  fall under the Catagory of comics too so give this thread a shout if want to know what's available in the mainstream or the underground.
