Poor Amber! :c That's what happened to me Easter 2005. Had a huge meal with my wife and her family at her father's place... stuffed myself with ham and potatoes and everything else imaginable. Then when my wife and I got home, I was talking with her about the night when I could feel myself get sick. I rushed to the bathroom and... BLARGH! I was sick with the flu for the next week. Took a long time to keep food down.
I really feel for you, Amber. Pleeeeease get well soon! :goamber
Sick Amber makes forumites sad :mowsad
Get well soon Amber.
Yeah, lets hope she gets better soon. :)
Also, neat filler from Kv1nn4, I like it.
As for the artist name,I'm guessing she's using the l33t form of kvinna, which means "woman/female" in Swedish, Faroese and Old Nordic I think, if memory serves me well. Anyways, not that important, but a fun little trivia there.
Poor Amber...You just can't catch a break. Here's hoping you're feeling better soon; easy does it *Cubi pony hugs*
About the artist: Kvinna; check Mabby's FA page :mowwink
see? Low Con rolls. she's keeping up with tradition i say! :U
Hope you're feeling better soon, Amber.
'Tis a very nice filler there.
Well I hear Chicken soup is lovely this time of year. Hope you get well soon Amber.
Though with how she resurrected Dan I would be very suspicious of how she would cure a flu.
I kind of feel guilty because I mentioned in the last thread that turkey delays tend to be delicious delay. Was I tempting fate for poor Amber?
Gosh I sure hope I don't have that kind of power. :<

*Raises both hands* I need healing, I need healing. I'm not sure anything is wrong with me but if there isn't you can rough me up a bit first. *swoons* :eager
Get better soon.
Susan Boynton had some good advice for this type of situation.

I really have a hard time seeing Wildy wearing white. It is so difficult to get the bloodstains out.
Also remember that Wildy's style of healing involves somebody receiving a great deal of pain. (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_160.php)

better than Piffany's... imagine all that duct tape with fur... YEEEEEG. :<
You know, this is an awesome, yet disturbing, pic for several reasons...
1) Wildy dressed as a FF White Mage. That alone breaks brains.
2) The staff she has greatly resembles the 'duck stick'. For those who never played Everquest, that was the Necromancer's epic item (Epic 1.0)
3) Wildy's smirk. It practically bets "Please, get hurt so I can heal you up. Here, in fact, let me help you with that..."
4) True to Wildy's lack of nudity taboo, it's actually not stitched up the sides, meaning someone could get into a lot of pain by assuming that also meant a lack of standards as well.
Love the white mage Wildy. I'm sure she would probably end up a fighting better in battles than the fighters.
She really fits the look. The red hair makes it scream classic white mage / white wizard.

If it means Amber getting better and drawing more comics, I'll volunteer to power Wildy's healing magic.

Actually, if you look at some of the original FF sprites for white mages, that's how they were, originally.
... Now I'm suddenly tempted to make one for fun. Don't think it'd be
too hard (famous last words)...
Anyways, hope Amber gets well soon! And Kv1nn4, whoever they are, is an awesome artist.
Awesome art by KV1NN4 as always.
I turned it into a 1280x1024 (http://i53.tinypic.com/6z8qkh.png) wallpaper if anyone wants it. Should be easy for anyone with any kind of photoshop magic to manipulate it into other resolutions.
Wildy does a good job at making the support classes look good. Nicely done Kv1nn4.
Wildy: Justifying the "CoDzilla" nickname since 2002!

She should have let my GM reroll her stats for her. I swear he never rolls less than a 21 on 3D6.
I will burn an extra large offering of Ginger Ale in the hopes that its healthily effervescent fumes will reach all the way to Canada. :bow
wow, I absolutely love this picture.
That has to be the sexiest pose I have seen Wildy in and she has on form hiding White Mage robes.
Indeed, best wishes and get well soon, Amber! Meanwhile, time for a new desktop background...

Wonderful way to return on a sick day than to see your favorite char on the main page with her big stick. Awesome picture and many thanks to the artist, it looks awesome.
You know, that picture would look good on the wall of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Theodore_Roosevelt_%28CVN-71%29), especially for the Growler (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_EA-18G_Growler) unit. The ship is known as The Big Stick and the Growler is used as a Wild Weasel (anti radar and electronic warfare) aircraft.

Aw, just admit it - you love admiring yourself. :D
I missed saving the image. Does anyone have it saved.
Try this location for the picture of Wildy (http://missmab.com/Images/wildyhealtxt.jpg).
As for the picture appearing on USS Roosevelt, VFA-31 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VFA-31) has Felix the Cat on their insignia. Given that the Growler is considered a descendent of the Wild Weasel and the Roosevelt is known as The Big Stick, it would seem ideal. Wildy looks like she would totally relish the site of destroying a few ground-based radars and sowing confusion among the enemy.
However, I just looked and the Roosevelt is currently being overhauled.

Given the amount of hilarity/ drama Am- Wildy's character has provided us over the years, I think she's more than due a bit of admiration.....*raises a hoof and a headwing*

you do remember what happened to the last person who /really/ wanted a cameo in DMFA, right?
*places hat on chest while a funeral dirge plays in the background*
Are you referring to Mink's taking part in the Anvil Chorus in strip 1131 (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_1131.php). Mink appears to be uninjured.
****
Thanks for the replies. I thought the reference was to something more recent.
Probably more in reference to this (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_429.php).
I don't think that there was anything left of him to bury. :mowtongue
Let me see... we have the sword-loving adventurer who's found out the 'secret' about his demonic parent and powers, the wandering mage, the misunderstood mega-geek whose technology is far beyond the world's current level, and the mystical guide from an incredibly powerful race whose actions may not be as innocent and altruistic as initially believed.
All we need now is the stoic dwarf and we've got all the makings of a hero manga! :D
Also, I suspect Amber must have a mutation in her TNF-alpha signalling, as it is one of the central factors in viral immune response. A number of polymorphisms seem related to increased susceptibility.
I can help using mad science! There may be some... side effects... :shifty
Basically, everyone has a character they think would fit really nicely into this/that story of whichever webcomic you might be talking about. And it's allright if the artist wanted to, the artist could totally just use it in their comic, they wouldn't mind. And so the poor artists end up with a million-and-one e-mails offering up characters of any kind, that they don't really need.
Yeah, it's been done before.
No, she probably doesn't need another one.
Yeah sure, we'd love to help her kill your characters off, but I'm sure she has plenty of ideas already!
Write a fanfic if you have something you need to get off your chest. :)

I was just making reference to the fact that the character profiles have a familiarity to the hero-manga genre in general and that only the dwarf remains to complete the status-quo set. After all, I still remember Amber's old comic about slaughtering some poor slob's nameless character offscreen. I've been on the forums for 8 years, ya know. Not a noob.
Well, Amber could always add an anthropomorphic version of Charles Proteus Steinmetz, a hunch-backed German dwarf who had a pet alligator and had equipment in his laboratory at General Electric for generating artificial lightning. (He used the artificial lightning for testing equipment for electric power generation.) As somebody pointed out, the combination of attributes brings new meaning to the GE slogan: "we bring good things to life". He would be a perfect associate for Jyrras. (He was actually a much wilder character than this description implies. However, there are space limitations.)

Great idea, How about we add the greatest
insane inventor of the early to mid 20th century Nicola Tesla as well. The two of them would always try to outdo each other to impress Jyrras like little children. Now I will shut up and stop fueling the fanfic fires. :mowdizzy

Not to worry, I wasn't aiming at you as such, but all the "oh hai, j00 can uuzz mai charaktar!" people out there. :)
And yeah, DMFA does have the hero-group makings to it.
But a dwarf ? We already have Jyrras and Wildy.
In a group like the DMFA one, I'd say it misses a "gentle giant" type of a character more than a angry/stoic dwarf.
Imagine someone that wouldn't fall prey to Wildy's taunts ?
It would be a proper challenge for her. :)
Pyroduck could be the gentle giant, in dragon form at least. He has been shown as mostly being calm and level headed.
Pyroduck, huh ?
Didn't he once set the Lost Lake on fire ?
I believe you mean Merlitz.
Are you sure that you aren't thinking of this strip where Abel was disguised as Merlitz. (http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_710.php)
