She might either do what she did to her brother, or be quite understanding.
Grievous Harm With A Body!
I was going to make an anime reference, but the one that came to mind was a character using his giant robot's -own- arm to beat the opponent into submission.
Ah well.
I can see why Dan doesn't mind, she's starting to remind him of his Amazon fascinations.
But umm, yeah, I wouldn't let her know the original reason for the date....
Also, I noticed she doesn't seem to have her own dish yet, little odd unless they are sharing.

among matilda's folk tearing off an arm might not be the same sort of bother it is to us. as a mystical reptillian species they could have remarkable regenerative powers. Matilda's banishment may be more from the fact that she, a mere female, physicaly humiliated and assualted the superior male, rather then the mere fact that she tore some one's arm off.
the rippin off of arms might b perfectly xceptible during a heatd argument so long as you don't do it to some one above your own station
"Even friendliest of roses have thorns" indeed. I wonder if Matilda has had any "disagreements" with Beings or other Creatures since her banishment...
However, just going by what we have seen of her, she could almost be seen as "rehabilitated"; she had a dark and violent past, but in the present day, she's one of the cheeriest and most polite members of the cast.

I think you misunderstand how social rules for family and rules for everyone else (being or creature) can be completely different. How many times have you gone with a friend to a place where his/her family was gathered. And then left wondering, my friend GREW UP WITH THIS?!?!?!?! And he/she thinks that is NORMAL?!?!?!?
I don't think Dan has much to worry about. Noone can push buttons like family can.

Amber hasn't stated what Mythos use for sustenance. Might be butterflies and strong beer for all we know. I think all of Matilda's meal is in her glass.
sounds like Matilda would get along rather well with Alexsi. >:3
I couldn't help but notice she has a claw coming out of that one finger there. Seems she has retractables!
Does this mean she was the second daughter? I could see that being a potential disagreement.
one thing that has me wondering is if he tells her and says that originally he was worried about his sister but seeing her so gussied up he just wanted to show her a good time he'd probably get a bat upside the head and a return date next week same time

Her profile says that she prefers stuff with high combustion rates and I don't think whatever Dan eats qualifies.
I think whatever she eats is in her glasses. Like petroleum, pure alcohol or nitromethane.
That's quite a meal out, if neither party has to eat...
You know, I hear there was a deleted scene in Commando that went something like that...

They both have a direct method of dealing with problems.
I think Dan's fantasy about amazons is starting to fade as he gets to know more about our favorite blue mythos-cobra-taur.
I have a new found respect for Matilda ...she rocks!
Personally I am not surprised at Dan's reaction to her banishment, in fact I find it quite fitting as Dan probably has seen worse.

Matilda prefers items with high combustion rate and Dan, being an incubus, does not need to eat food as he can gain nourishment from emotions.

while dan is ignorent of most of there social graces he has faught them so he'd know something about there physiality. he'd know about any regenerative abilities they hadand some of there behaviors simply by watching them. He could have even seen the tear the arm off debate tactic first hand if the band he was watching had leadership issues
I am surprised that nobody has mentioned the rate of "munches" per frame. When Dan finds out she was exiled, he mentions "foot in mouth" and starts eating energetically (two munches in that frame) to have something to do other than talking. When sibling dismemberment is mentioned, he gets really energetic about eating (three munches in that frame).
I've got a hunch that the munches mean something.
I think Matilda is better off outside of a society such as the one she grew up in. Gives her more of a chance to reach her potential. And she is already taking the opportunity it seems with the shop she owns and whatever else she has done with her life outside of Blue Volcano region.

Well, it's impolite to talk with your mouth full. Maybe he's just keeping his mouth full with food so he doesn't wind up filling it with his foot instead.
O_O If Dan gets into an actual relationship with Matilda, he better not piss her off. Otherwise he will be paying many trips to the Nurses Office at SAIA to get a limb reattached.
Hungry there, Dan? He's holding two little bug-kabobs in one hand! And doesn't even stop munching to talk.
(Also, nice eye for detail Amber for keeping his meal consistant.)
And...ooh. Matilda has claws? That's new.

The quote on the window bar leaves me to belive she still does. TNT is Neopets staff and Meepit Juice Break is a game there.
I noted that window bar too.
Still, on the comic.
Matilda seems to have retractable claws. Large and sturdy ones as well. And she seems to hold her own in a fight too... (Lord knows I couldn't beat my brother into submission with his own arm.)
Hmm...
*begins daydreaming of Dan and Matilda adventuring together*
I think this has been mentioned before, but when Matilda wants others to see her as non-threatening, or Amber wants us to relate to her, Matilda's third eye is closed.
Because, as you know, us forum-lurkers are easily freaked out, you know. :)
Given that her favorite food is wine and her kind prefers to consume more combustible material, she maybe drinking high concentrate ethanol or something equally high proof.
Edited for my viewing pleasure. :mowninja

Well, the Bar and Grill staff doesn't know that. Anyway, I imagine it would be part of what they ordered.
And just because Dan hasn't
needed to eat for three years, doesn't meant he's lost the ability to enjoy eating. Or pack it away. Unlike his lack of need for sleep, which now makes it difficult for him to get to sleep.
Now that he is aware of it, he might make it a point to eat, when he thinks of if. That's the thing of course, not needing to eat means he don't get hungry, so he has no internal reminder to eat. It's now something he has to remember to do.

However, eating when he's already having his nutritional needs catered for is liable to ruin his figure unless he does something to burn it off. (I would presume Abel does this since the gym was one of the first facilities he mentioned in SAIA).

Yes, but while Abel may have taken it into account, I doubt Dan has thought that far ahead.
Of course, there might be some mechanism inherent in 'Cubi which prevents them from getting fat if they feed on both food and emotions...
Assuming they get fat from feeding on emotions, or that their methods of sustenance work that way. Many assumptions.
Or that they can't shapeshift excess fat away if they don't want it. Can Cubi break the law of conservation of mass?

*sighs* It has to, at least to some extent, unless the author is going out of his/her way to make things alien. I think we're all meant to acknowledge Dan's lung wound in #982 as deadly serious, even though it's never explicitly stated that 'Cubi, (or anyone in general) needs to breathe. Likewise, objects fall due to the influence of gravity (except Warp-Aci), you need a mother and a father to reproduce (except the Fae and maybe for certain weird mythos), and people age and eventually die of it.
Sure, fantasy necessitates breaks from reality that we know about it. But that doesn't mean you throw everything out the window, and put up a big "NEENER NEENER" sign to reality. My question still, as I see it, stands. Can a 'Cubi use shapeshifting to alter his/her mass? I can think a number of times this would be useful, from shedding excess pounds to simply making yourself twenty feet tall in the case of a fight.
Way to read too much into it, and miss the post above you. :B

Aaryanna shape shifts into a small pink poodle at one point. The poodle is very much smaller then she is. So I'll go with my gut feeling of... maybe.
It seems the law of conservation of mas does not apply to cubi from what I've seen... But increasing/decreasing mass might have a steep elastic difficulty... Or it works like the Alter Self Spell from D&D... Limited in adjustments, but not absolute conservation of mass...

I also remember Destania shapeshifting into Biggs...a ferret much smaller than she is, and convincingly so. Some people think the Aary-poodle thing was silly and non-canonical, so the Destania-Biggs thing is the best canon example of seemingly disappearing mass.

The Auld Grump
I think we're seeing the "Popcorn Effect" here. The more interesting the movie, the faster you stuff the popcorn down. Nobody knows why but the popcorn cartel, and they're not saying.
I recently thought of something. For Matilda, one would consider Dan a keeper.
He was not fazed when she told him exactly why she was exiled but instead he replied with a congratulatory remark. (OK most demons would do the same but this is Dan)
I mean how many guys would approve if the girl he is on a date with said, "I was kicked out of my home because I tore my brother's arm off and beat him into submission with it." Most guys would freeze in their tracks, look like nothing's wrong, smile and run at the first chance they get. Dan on the other hand is one of the rare that would come back with a smile and a rose asking for a second date.
