For the curious - why does yuumei's speak with black ballons?

Its cause i picture each of my charas has a voice of some sort - and for yuumei he has a very deep accented voice which echos at the end when he talks - hence the black ballons - cause its meant to make him sound creepy :)

The closest I've seen in Furfire is an attempted decapitation, which isn't quite the same.  Nor has Yuumei actually taken corporeal form, instead preferring to possess Savrin.

Is there some precursor strip to Furfire which I've missed?

In the comic Furfire itself there hasnt been any real indicator of Yuumei's intents...especially concerning Zephyr. Its more a "what may come in the future" type of gag setup.

That or Silver is playing up to her fans. X3

I don't think it's from the Furfire comic, more like the other filler or one-shot comics Sil draws, I'll go look for one or two of such comics.

If you read the 'inner demons arc' Yuumei first appears as a violent spirt who pocsses savrin and then procedded to kick Zephyr around quite a bit
it actually all came about from Yuumei himself hes quite an instresting character to play with - he likes 'toying' with other emotions especially Zephyrs he part demon after all

Zepher is a jerk - but at least hes a loveable jerk = Yuumei on the other hand - weLL :) he'll chase just about anyuthing to play with 'you'

the fillers were to show Yuumeis new coperal form - at th emoment in the storyline hed oesnt have one

Trying something a bit different - for those who understand photoshop a bit - i use layers when coloring my large pics - but for those who havnt seen how its done hes a step by step how i color - am using my that time halloween pic for this

cause its a large detailed picture the first part is the background which is usally done last in some cases here its being done first - i am visable merging the layers done so far it actually took 5 layers to do the sky and 2 on the tree - rough light sources so far

now its starts to look like a nightime sence - screen and pin light layers done on the clouds so far

background is half done now - i work from top to bottom - and turned on the linart so can see if everthing is in the right place - still gotta alot of work to do! but its taking shape

The background is more or less complete now - taken 2 hours so far and 45 layers

Yes, Silver's a unique lil arteest. She manages a cartoony style that isn't horribly unproportioned or anime, which is rather rare in most circles.
