Children are sacred... does that mean physical children or mental children?
After all, would it make a difference? I hope so...

I assume he means physical children, because even if they're a kid at heart, their souls still would have matured.

Remember, souls are like fine wine.  Young souls really don't have the energy to be worth devouring.  They need time to age before they gain enough power to truly be enjoyed. :mwaha

But seriously, whether or not this was the Red Queen's reason for sparing children, I do not know.

From what Mordrith is saying, she really was all kinds of crazy.  The kids they "spared" would either be left in poverty or snatched up into slavery, all while dealing with the mental scars of their adult loved ones being slaughtered. :|

Jyraneth doctrine was that children were pure and innocent and not yet tainted by adulthood.
As such, they didn't enslave children, but they took adults, probably also late teen border cases where they weren't entirely sure if someone was a child or not and couldn't risk killing them.
Young children and infants were left to fend for themselves in the ruins of their villages - Jyraneth believed that since they were doing the will of the gods, the gods would protect the children.  If the children did die for some reason, it couldn't possibly have been because of their holy crusade.

Ah slaughtering and slaving. What I'd give to do that to whoever messes with me.

I find it funny how some people try to keep this perfect view of their parents despite the horrible things they've done, and even as the kids begin to admit their parents' shortcomings they find it difficult to even think about leaving them.

Not so with some parent's attitudes to their children, I say blah to them.

I like how everyone was scared when he yelled "This was suppose to be a private call!"

Yes, I do post just to see my own words on the screen.
