Ok, when I first heard about this new series back in winter, naturally I was dreading it, given the awfulness of every other 80's cartoon series remake/movie/etc.

And then... 2 days ago... I saw the trailers...

My first jaw-dropping shock was that it USES REAL TRADITIONAL ANIMATION!!!   

And it looks EPIC in the truest sense of the word!  I can't wait for July 29th!  (premiere date)  They're actually gonna go into the backstory of the world which was barely touched in the old series, and it appears it'll have a solid, ongoing storyline rather than the often silly episodic filler which weakened the old series in my opinion.

In other words:  SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

I...well....I'm an 80's child and a boy and I hated Thundercats (except for the theme tune, that was fantastic). The only thing I can really remember about the show is that there were these side characters who threw magical balls at the baddies and the balls blew up into water spouts. That's it. The lasting impression is wet balls.

Wait! That doesn't look half bad. Even the crowds have a feel to them. I just hope they don't quit the story before they finish the series. I hate when they quit half way through.

And as the story progresses, she'll mature and then she'll be oh-so-hot!  Can't... urg... wait... feel.. strange... *Alondro suddenly gets fatter and fatter!  Zits explode across his T-zone!  A fetid stench wafts from his pasty-complexioned form!  And seemingly from out of nowhere, a tattered stained sketchbook of porn emerges!  Alondro has contracted Drooling Fanboi Syndrome!*

Given the previews of the new show, and the fact that it's already ready for airing, I'm pretty sure we can completely discount that rumor.

The Smurfs, however, will be in New York in that promises-to-be-utter-FAIL movie. >
