I am now getting a yahoo search result from using my book mark for DMFA. It tells me there are 19,800 search results for www.missmab.com, but did not bring up the web site, nor the progress report I was previously getting. :(

Is this a good sign, or a bad one? O_o

It just means the DNS entry is probably no longer valid for Xepher.net controlled domain names, missmab.com and the like.
DNS entries take awhile to circulate so if they have been down long enough with absolutely no updates, the web-page literally disappears from the internet.

But fear not, I would suspect it to be restored soon. Though it may take a little bit for the new entries to recirculate to the DNS server you connect to.

More information on DNS for those inquiring minds out there.

Ah. Okay, that's good to know. Thanks! :)

I have Comcast, but I keep getting a Firefox "problem loading page" error rather than Comcast's "don't mind us, we suck" error. Normally Firefox tells me it can't load a page when my internet is down, but it's just missmab.com, all other sites are fine :/

I am sadded.

It depends on where the error is, really...

If the failure is that the DNS contains no records for the requested server, then your ISP can return a record for their search engine/add server, which will recieve the URL you used and tailor ads to that.  If they are doing their job properly, they return an error that the specified domain or server cannot be resolved for.

If the failure is with your connection to a server, then you ether can't reach DNS or can't reach the requested server, and Firefox times out and returns an error.

And, of course, there is the well known 404 when the page you request does not exist on the server (and a few other error messages that can be returned from the remote server if you are able to reach it, assuming they are not set up to redirect you to a custom error page)

I don't know whether anyone else is getting this, but for me:
http://www.missmab.com  - works
http://missmab.com - displays the status message.

Similarly:
http://www.project-future.org - works
http://project-future.org - displays the status message.  Guess which address I used to host my fanbar...?

EDIT:
Hmm, seems to be working at work.  Maybe it's just a DNS catchup or something.

I was so pissed off when a I couldn't get images of a funny comic transferred to me from computer on another continent in a matter of seconds whenever I wanted..

Yeowch... And I thought I had problems with getting my website off the ground...
Granted, that doesn't beat trying to act as a web host for about a hundred people...

Seems to be working now, FWIW. I just checked, using both addresses for each.

I like the information I'm getting about it a lot better than some random 404 error message. ^^

Perhaps it's time to create a custom 404 message, like this one (Twokinds/leoian):
