Just when Abel thought he couldn't feel emotion anymore, along comes Mink to break him out of his funk.

Nice perspective work on Mink's foot making it bigger in the frame.

Also, does Fa'Lina ALWAYS show up when its least convenient for Abel?  He must feel soooooo special!

With a sucker-equipped tentacle tail, I'd have thought Mink would just grab the rail and hang there by it. I see he did manage to extend his wings a little, but the fall wasn't far enough to make any use of them but maybe to wrap himself for protection.

Fa'Lina probably showed up to make sure he didn't break his neck/fluid sacs/unusual supporting fibrous material/etc. and get killed.
She is all seeing within the academy walls after all.

Abel's attained good reflex control over those wings of his. I would have thought him to have less control since he isn't thrilled at being a Cubi. But then again, that could be a really simple thing to do, kinda like extending an arm as you fall.

I also think that Mink's clan symbol looks like the UFoP logo from the Star Trek franchise.

Luckily, we are going to learn about the clan to which this symbol belongs in due time, since it was implicitly mentioned in the donation meter that Mink's great-great-grandmother was one of the still alive and active Clan Leaders.

He doesn't like the idea of people stealing other people's identities.  He's not particularly happy about outliving his mother, though that's something that isn't going to happen again.  And AFAIK he's not very happy with his affinity.

Apart from those issues, I'm not sure he strictly has a problem with being 'Cubi.  After all, by the present day he seems to have learned a lot about how to use his new powers and abilities.

AFAIK the undead event happened less than a century prior to present-day DMFA.  If DP were to reanimate May shortly after her death, she would be a soulless automaton for the next 200 years or so.  I'm not sure Kria would do that to someone she loved as a friend.
