Upgrading PC, pointers/suggestions?

I've been wanting to upgrade my PC in a while, these are what I thought of:

Notes:
- there aren't any PC games younger than 5 years I play or want to play.
- kvm (the Linux virtualization software, not the switcher hardware) is a very important point, and I'm not sure about which processors support it. I'm an AMD person but am willing to get intel hardware if it's needed to get the processor virtualization extensions.well now I paid attention to the product description, it does
- I'm buying a new PSU for two reasons:

• I want a more silent machine
• The parts being replaced are going to be used on an arcade machine I'm gonna build (I have spare HDs, cables, cd-rom drives, but not PSUs

Nice, but you might want to invest in a PSU that can handle more wattage. 350 isn't all that much these days.
A 500 watt PSU should do nicely.

Yea, I agree on the PSU. 450-600 would be the range you are looking at, and you absolutely MUST get a high quality PSU. You will pay a bit more for it, but a cheap one can take out your motherboard & other componants.

Note that even if a brand is good, a particular model can have problems, so I strongly suggest you find a few possible power supplies that would work, and google the models of each. Try to find a quality review that uses an actual load-tester, and doesn't just hook it up to a computer.

on the PSU area, I really don't think ammount of power is a problem.  according to http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/Power, plus other sources, 350W has a fairly wide room of tolerance already, about 100W during normal load.
Also, this is already one of the most expensive I could find in the sub-400 range already

Good idea, except I can't find any quality review for any of the available choices that doesn't cost nearly as much as the other components.
