#1: Finished Fanart of Mab.  (http://phoenix-feather.deviantart.com/art/Fanart-Mab-92907293) hands are different sizes, and the background is rather lame, any crits other than that?  I feel like something isn't quite right, but I can't tell what.

#2: animal/anthro sketches, mostly heads (http://s306.photobucket.com/albums/nn266/myxinidae/doodles/?action=view&current=heads.jpg)  crit very appreciated, especially with the thing in the upper middle that was supposed to be a fox, I am crap at canine faces.

The Mab one is very good.  More realistic than Amber's style, but you can tell at a glance who it is.  One thing to note, though, is that Mab has three fingers - only humans in DMFA have all four.

**EDIT**
Oh, yes I forgot the fox.  Really that needs Turnsky or someone else who knows foxes inside-out, but I think the main problem is the shape of the ears.

I think that's actually a pretty good fox (Despite my avatar, I'm pretty crap at drawing foxes too). You could stand to lengthen the muzzle a bit more, though, cause the slope of his nose makes him look a little feline.

I'd like to commend you on taking the time to study different facial structures. Too many artists these days just use a generic skull (usually a stock anime style) and add cosmetic elements to define a furrys race.

A note on Mab: This might just be how you draw heads, but the slope of her forehead and the bridge of her nose make her look very child like. Mab is, apparently, about 400K years old, so it's not exactly how I picture her. Her eyes, mouth, nose, chin, etc, are lovely though, coupled with a very gentle facial expression.

I *love* the use of tone, especially on her sash, her shoulder and hands, the intonation of the jawline, the wings, and the fur on the Mow. The dress however, doesn't really feel like cloth. It almost looks like volume of stone, solid, rather then a surface of fabric that flows.

As a nitpic, Mabs tail has three gold bands tying it down, as seen in panel three, here. An incidental oversight, though. I only mention it at all because the tail is a very large volume of color with not much detail, which might affect the overall composition (I don't really have a decent grasp on composition, though, so the effect might be  a good or bad one).

It's a beautiful rendition, though, and it captures Mab very well.

I thought the bands on her tail were just while she was in the Fae realm (no tails fluffier than Nutmeg's allowed)

OK, and now that i'm home from work...
The forehead/nose bridge line was based more on the profile of a cat than a human (http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn266/myxinidae/darg-profile.jpg) so the nose angle is intentional, and Mab usually doesn't look quite her age :P

I see what you mean about the dress, must practice shading drapery.

5 fingers instead of 4 was an oversight on my part, I forgot that it's intentional and not just stylistic.

That she does, here she wears either one or none, I can't tell.

Ah. Understandable.

It may be worth mentioning the cat has a slight indentation over the bridge of the nose, level with the top of the eye. It breaks the muzzle and forehead into two separate curves. This is a very subtle nuance, but faces are all about the nuance.

I dunno. Might be worth considering.

Wings are always a pain.

The skirt doesn't look too bad. Really the only thing that bugs me is the crease in the middle. I'm not convinced it should be there. I like the cloth coming off the shoulder... I know it's a really simple thing, but I like it. Well intimated, I suppose.

The little touches of frizz are nice. Subtle, but there. I like the hair too, except that the part that falls and her bangs don't really seem related to each other.

Did you forget the lower edge of the corset? I see a line there, but it's not inked.

The pose of the hands are very natural, and the face is just adorable.

All in all, a nice piece of work. How did you ink it with?

Thank you much :3
the original bottom edge of the corset is hidden by her forearms, should have moved it down to make sure it was clear.  or it might be less ambiguous with color

sketched with a mechanical pencil with red lead, inked with Copic Multiliners (like a micron, but refillable) in 0.25 and 0.05 sizes.  oh, and if you ever need really detailed wing photos, try here

She came out very well there.  Are you planning to colour her?

I think i'll mess with the wings and skirt some more before I color her, i'm really not happy with them yet

I'm really not sold on the feathers. They look more like plant leaves. You don't usually see that much detail on feathers in real life, it's all implied by highlights if you see it at all. The pink feathers don't seem to be layered right either. Wings are a complete pain though.

The face looks a little off, like the eyes are drawn from one angle but the nose is drawn from another. It's possible to imply an angle to the face by doing that, but you can only take it so far. As it is, it makes the left side of her face look really weird.

The eyes themselves are glamourous though, and the hair is beautiful. I love the texture on her dress. The makeup makes her really jump out at me, for some reason.
