Sheesh... I don't even really like the Beatles, and that just sounds terrible. It certainly doesn't sound like the Beatles I'm used to hearing on occasion. It sounds like a bad techno remix, and I mean a really bad techno remix.

That's the idea.  Basically, the reduction mixes for Sergeant Pepper turned up in FLAC format a while back.  It's fun to play around with them, but with only four tracks there's a limit to what you can achieve, beyond reversing the guitar solos etc or showering the vocal tracks with reverse reverb etc.

This guy, apparently out of sheer cynicism, ran the vocals through Melodyne, Antares or some other pitch correction software and by the sound of it turned the thing up to maximum.

I posted the links here for two reasons:
1. It's funny to hear the Beatles mangled by the kind of shitty production that people use today
2. It's such a blatant example of pitch correction that it'll help you spot it when you hear it in a commercial track.

Ew, perilous indeed.  Sounds like they used a vocoder on the DJ, and Melodyne can definitely do what they did on the candidates.

I've heard songs that are considered very popular on the radio created in such a sad way too. Why so many people love them I'll never know, but it makes you wonder if anyone can be called great by speaking in monotone and adding the autotune devices.
