So wait was this plot all for nothing, or is this an attempted swerve on God's part?  Because given than Richard just had his mother killed in front of him, that would seem to spur him to make a very BIG decision and become one of those important fated people, despite what the big man is saying.  Richard has every reason to be a real hellraiser, now, I'd think.

Then again, God doesn't lie in this comic.  He only misleads.
