So I've been PMing, right? But there's no real way to check to see if I sent my message or not. It's not in outbox and I don't have a folder for sent items, nor does it appear below the message (the PM system is structured to look like a topic) of the previous sender.

So does this mean my PMs aren't pushing through, or do I have to wait for their response to see my response?

There's a setting in your profile for whether you want PMs saved in your outbox by default. Even if it's set to 'no', you can check a box before sending your PM if you want to keep it in your outbox. If you don't store it there one way or the other, then only the receiver will have it.
