I _think_ that what it is trying to say is that Mab was planning giving the soul to Alby here all along as long as he did something for her -- in other words, as long as he cursed Jyrras.

Which begs the question, why? Is she offended at Jy not liking her brownies? Or perhaps this "curse" is something else entirely, maybe something that will help Jyrras.

Or, a real stretch, something to do with the creature council.

Ok, lets refresh.

a) Mab was young with Dan. (obviously a disguise, since she noted that several linears died out on her.)
b) There's a reasonable chance a lot of this is an act. (point A, + her not having regrets, + current comic)
c) http://missmab.com/Comics/Vol_695.php still nags me. I think it was intentional. (given that there's no reason to believe she doesn't have the ability to shapeshift Pyroduck herself)
d) Apparently Nutmeg doesn't know of all this. Or she's an even better actor than it seems. Granted, Mabby didn't seem that villainous to start off with..
e) That's a lot of coincidences, with one final result. Granted, she could've spoken with Albanion when she first left the group, which makes it all less of a coincidence.
f) Rose however, is likely to not know anything. Rose apparently is a "younger fae". Given what has happened, there's a very good chance she may be a new permanent character.
g) If cursing Jyrras, is phase 3, what's phase 1 and 2? (Though... Fa'lina cound be involved. Just a hunch)
h) So, It's not exactly a directly hurtful curse? (unhappy is a couple notched above pained or death..)
i) And of cause, what's phase 4...

In other news, I'm disturbed that Albanion got the soul.  I haven't read James Morrow's Only Begotten Daughter, in which Christ's second coming is as a woman born to a virgin man, but I'm imagining that it would be pretty painful.

2 possibilities immediately comes to mind: Mows, and Deebs. There's also the other aspects, but if Albanion knows, there's no reason why Mab shouldn't know too, since they're in cahoots.
